$ synaptic-pkexec 

/usr/sbin/synaptic: error while loading shared libraries:

directory

I guess, it might be due to recent apt upgrade?

Followup-For: Bug #806518

I can confirm downgrading to libept1.4.16 version 1.0.14+b1 fixed it
too. Also just sudo synaptic had the same problem, in case you thought
it was just invoking using the pkexec.
