Bug#944263: python-releases: FTBFS in unstable

2019-11-25 Thread Carsten Schoenert
Control: tags -1 patch

Hi,

I tried to use the newer upstream version to see if this issue might be
fixed here. But no, it's still existing also in version 1.6.1.

But there is an MR in the upstream poject that fixes this build issue.

https://github.com/bitprophet/releases/pull/86

The origin of this MR can be found here.

https://github.com/rbarrois/releases/commit/8787236dffb7383427b3e1448ece9a5b3eaf5257

I can confirm that this patch fixes the FTBFS for 1.4.0 but also with
the current most recent upstream version 1.6.1.

Regards
Carsten

Bug#944263: python-releases: FTBFS in unstable

2019-11-06 Thread Steve Langasek
Source: python-releases
Version: 1.4.0-2
Severity: serious
User: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com
Usertags: origin-ubuntu focal

Hi Zygmunt,

python-releases 1.4.0-2 fails to build in the Ubuntu devel series, and I
reproduced this failure also in a Debian sid environment:

[...]
make[1]: Entering directory '/<>'
PYTHONPATH=. python3 -m sphinx -b html -d docs/_build/.doctrees -N docs
docs/_build/html
Running Sphinx v1.8.5

Exception occurred:
  File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/semantic_version/base.py", line 102, in
__init__
raise ValueError("Call either Version('1.2.3') or Version(major=1, ...).")
ValueError: Call either Version('1.2.3') or Version(major=1, ...).
The full traceback has been saved in /tmp/sphinx-err-r8fk2tvf.log, if you want
to report the issue to the developers.
Please also report this if it was a user error, so that a better error message
can be provided next time.

The sphinx long shows a more complete backtrace which should help make it
clearer:

File "/tmp/python-releases-1.4.0/releases/models.py", line 14, in __init__
super(Version, self).__init__(version_string, partial)
  File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/semantic_version/base.py", line 102, in
__init__
raise ValueError("Call either Version('1.2.3') or Version(major=1, ...).")
ValueError: Call either Version('1.2.3') or Version(major=1, ...).

Cheers,
