Bug#970809: python3-venv is gone

2021-01-08 Thread Raphael Hertzog
Hi,

the package has been dropped from testing a while ago due to this bug
but it's not clear to me that there's a real bug here.

Can you be more verbose and back up this assertion with something
concrete?

What is gone exactly?

I still see the "venv" module in python3.9-stdlib. The reason why
python3-venv has been added in the Depends is because "ensurepip" was
required for the "python3 -m venv" to actually work.

See https://bugs.debian.org/954939

How is that wrong?

Cheers,

PS: Jonas, the package could use some love anyway, it's behind several
upstream releases.

This package depends or build-depends on python3-venv, which is gone upstream.
Please remove or re-implement that usage.
