 After struggling for a bit due to CONF.sh overwriting my settings (I've
 figured out about DEBIAN_CD_CONF_SOURCED now!) I managed to do a sid m-a
 netinst build without perl and deps on it and it looks as if everything
 necessary fits on CD1 now, without excluding the 486 kernel or anything
 like that.

 Disk usage is 643M here so pretty close to the edge still.

 Still not seeing that here yet, but of course it'll take time for the
 changes to hit testing.

That's right, it's 5/10 days old at the moment, I was building a sid iso
just to see if it helped.

Oh, Gosh. You are right.

Finding the I want to be a guinea pig images is, sometimes, a not-so
obvious thing, if one goes to the expected place (cdimage.d.o). Some
links, in no particular order:

* http://d-i.alioth.debian.org/
* http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/daily-builds/
* http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/squeeze_live_alpha1/

BTW, just a naïve question for those at debian-cd: is there any
(intended :-)) reason why the daily-builds for a given arch (say,
powerpc) also lists some other arches as subdirectories? Say:

* http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/weekly-builds/powerpc/
* http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/weekly-builds/powerpc/alpha/
* http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/weekly-builds/powerpc/arm/

... and so on?

Hmmm. There's been a screwup somewhere then - this clearly shouldn't
happen. Thanks for the report!
