chiark -ctte copies

2009-01-10 Thread Anthony Towns
Hi,

I'm still getting duplicates of the -ctte lists via:

Received: from chiark.greenend.org.uk ([212.13.197.229])
by azure.erisian.com.au with esmtp (Exim 4.63 #1 (Debian))
id 1LLRLI-0008BV-QK
for ; Sat, 10 Jan 2009 10:04:45 +1000
Received: from liszt.debian.org ([82.195.75.100])
by chiark.greenend.org.uk (Debian Exim 3.36 #1) with esmtp
(return-path
bounce-debian-ctte=ijackson+debian-ctte=chiark.greenend.org...@lists.deb
ian.org) id 1LLRLG-0001R1-00 for
ijackson+debian-c...@chiark.greenend.org.uk; Sat, 10 Jan 2009 00:04:42
+

I think that was to make the -ctte-private list work or something, so I've
just been ignoring them, but it'd be nice if they could stop now, pls. :)

Cheers,
aj

I think this was something Ian set up to make sure the TC members were never
unsubscribed from the list accidentally? Which has never happened to me -
I'd be happy to not receive these duplicates myself...

Yes. We did have a lot of trouble with that but it hasn't happened to
me either since the list filtering was improved (and particular, set
to member posting only). So I think it can be retired now.

The current receipients are moth@, vorlon@, aba+...@, aj@ and i...@.
I'm about to remove vorlon@ aj@ and i...@.

Andreas and Raul: are you subscribed some other way ? If you are then
I can discontinue this alias. If you would like to continue to be
subscribed via chiark then that's fine by me.

However if the alias exploder is to continue, we have a slight
problem. AJ has just published the exploder alias email address, by
posting the full headers of one of his copies to a publicly archived
list. That means that the exploder will soon start to get spam in its
own right at that address.

So I have to either retire the exploder or change its name, which will
in any case involve a request to the listmasters.

Ian.

I'm unsubscribeable subscribed to the normal list on lists.d.o.

Excellent, OK, I've removed you from the alias too.

Thanks,
Ian.
