Bug#805764: ITP: libarray-utils-perl -- Small utils for array manipulation

2015-11-22 Thread Doug Torrance
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Doug Torrance

* Package name: libarray-utils-perl
  Version : 0.5
  Upstream Author : Sergei A. Fedorov
* URL : https://metacpan.org/release/Array-Utils
* License : GPL/Artistic
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : Small utils for array manipulation

A small pure-perl module containing list manipulation routines. The module
emerged because I was tired to include same utility routines in numerous
projects.

I plan to package this as a member of the Debian Perl Group.

It will be a dependency of WeBWorK, an online math homework platform I am
packaging as a member of the Debian Science Team.

Bug#805816: ITP: sklearn-pandas -- Pandas integration with sklearn

2015-11-22 Thread Christopher Baines
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Christopher Baines

* Package name: sklearn-pandas
  Version : 0.0.12
  Upstream Author : Israel Saeta Pérez
* URL : https://github.com/paulgb/sklearn-pandas
* License : Zlib
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : Pandas integration with sklearn

sklearn-pandas provides a bridge between scikit-learn's machine learning
methods and pandas data frames.

In particular, it provides:
 - a way to map DataFrame columns to transformations, which are later
   recombined into features
 - a way to cross-validate a pipeline that takes a pandas DataFrame as input.

My plan is to maintain this within the Debian Python Modules Team.

I've uploaded this to jessie-proposed-updates.

OOI, was that coordinated with anyone on the Release Team beforehand? I
don't remember seeing any discussion on debian-release at least.

Due to the way dak policy queues work, this will not end up in the
stable-new queue for SRM review - it will hit NEW due to the new binary
package and then go straight to proposed-updates, assuming that
ftp-master accept it.

Regards,

Adam

I thought I had discussed this, but maybe not, in which case I
apologise.

Would you mind reviewing it and then asking ftp-master to accept or
reject on the basis of that?

The full source and binaries can be found in:
