quite probably, yes. but that doesn't make any crap any better.

Yet, afaik, you use Qubes which recommends Intel and AMD and don't even
mind other things (nvidia or amd gpus etc). Things are not going to
becoming less crappy if we rant about them and other options are simply
not there yet for many of people.

Bug#866951: ITP: yasw -- Yet Another Scan Wizard

2017-07-02 Thread Andrew Ross
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Andrew Ross

* Package name: yasw
  Version : 0.6
  Upstream Author : Robert Chéramy
* URL : https://sourceforge.net/projects/yascanw/
* License : GPL-3
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : Yet Another Scan Wizard

 YASW (Yet Another Scan Wizard) is an application used to correct images
 taken with a camera. It can be used to post process the scanning of a book
 or to correct an individual image taken with a camera.

I intend to maintain this project either under the collab-maint project, or
through the pkg-multimedia team. I'll need a sponsor, and would welcome a
co-maintainer although upstream releases are infrequent so I don't expact
large amounts of work to keep the package up-to-date.

Bug#866893: ITP: jackson-jr -- JSON library for Java -- standalone data-binding module

2017-07-02 Thread Markus Koschany
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Markus Koschany

* Package name: jackson-jr
  Version : 2.8.9
  Upstream Author : FasterXML, LLC, Seattle, USA
* URL : https://github.com/FasterXML/jackson-jr
* License : Apache-2.0
  Programming Lang: Java
  Description : JSON library for Java -- standalone data-binding module

Jackson jr is a compact alternative to the full Jackson Databind
component. It implements a subset of functionality, for example for
cases where size of jar or startup time matters. In addition to basic
datatypes the package supports reading and writing of standard Java
Beans (an implementation that mimics the standard JDK Bean
Introspection).

Jackson jr also adds composer implementation that
can be used to construct JSON output with builder-style API, but
without necessarily having to build an in-memory representation:
instead, it can directly use the streaming-api for direct output. It
is also possible to build actual in-memory JSON String or byte[]
representation, if that is preferable.

This package is a new dependency to package the latest version of
pdfsam.

* License : CC BY-SA 3.0+
  Programming Lang: N/A, source is SVG, build script is Bashism
  Description : Official logo of the Taiwan Localization
Community(臺灣在地化社群)

 - why is this package useful/relevant?

   This package is trying to make l10n-tw-logo as installed icons/clipart that
can be applied to l10n-tw related folders or documents.

   There is future plans to making desktop backgrounds derived from the icons,
but it is not implemented yet.

   This package is selected due to to it's simplicity(the only programming
language used is Bash scripts) for learning Debian packaging, there may be less
use for it to be really included in Debian, though.

 - is it a dependency for another package?

   Nope.

 - do you use it?

   Yes.

 - if there are other packages providing similar functionality, how does it
compare?

   Nope.

 - how do you plan to maintain it?

   As I AM the upstream the packaging wil be mainained in the upstream
codebase.
