[ITH] eagle-usb

2006-12-26 Thread Paul Cupis
Debian-Devel,

I intend to hijack the eagle-usb source package.

The last maintainer upload was 2005-04-14 and the package has
subsequently been removed from testing/etch and NMUd to fix FTBFS bugs.
Other bugs have gone uncommented on even with patches in the BTS,
upstream and with new upstream releases.

I am aware of the ueagle-atm project which mostly superceeds this
project, and will be looking to incorporate that into Debian as well.

Regards,

Seem to just be a SPARC buildd issue holding this out of sarge, as
reported to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED] previously.

Can someone with access to a SPARC do a binary-NMU to get this into
sarge, please?

If this program is packaged for Debian, it too will require kdelibs4.

This is a KDE app, and KDE 3 (the version in Debian/unstable)
includes/requires kdelibs4.

Further, this program is likely to be released with KDE3.2 later this
year - it is already in KDE CVS (kdesdk module).

I agree with this. Tell the maintainer you are NMU-ing, and do so to
Delayed/. If he reverts/override the change, take it to the tech-ctte.

It's disabled due to non-US moving hosts (satie to klecker), it hasn't
been re-enabled yet since there's still some worries about whether non-US
has been recovered adequately; and the glibc issue means there's not a
huge amount of point to re-enabling it. :-/

  dpkg-reconfigure debconf -plow

This will make debconf ask you its questions.
