It may be much cleaner to include help links /etc/motd, adivising the
user to read a hipothetical
"/usr/share/doc/linux-beginners/new-users", or enter a help-mode by

Bug#390569: ITP: nwu -- Network-wide update system for systems which use APT

2006-10-01 Thread Yves Junqueira
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Yves Junqueira <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: nwu
  Version : 0.1.5
  Upstream Author : Yves Junqueira <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://www.cetico.org/nwu
* License : GPL
  Description : Network-wide update system for systems which use APT

NWU is a remote network updates management tool. Key features are:

# Install packages in remote computers
# List pending updates
# Roll security upgrades to computers
# Update the remote nodes packages cache
# Receive feedback of failures by email

The source package will provide at least three binary packages:
- nwu-server
- nwu-agent
- python-sysinfo

Python-sysinfo is a multi-platform abstraction layer to system
information, either software and hardware.

NWU is currently alpha, almost beta.
