Don't you think it's far more useful and makes people waste less time when looking at it or looking for changes at a later date? Personally, I will reopen the bug should you do so on a bug I reported, without prior explanations sent to me. I don't want to repeat what has been said over and over each time such issues has been raised, but basically, i'd expect the changelog to at least say what kind of bug is fixed or even better what has been done so that the bug was fixed, instead of just closing in this way.
