You would need to pull the changes from upstream to that branch though. -- Luis Alejandro Martínez Faneyth Blog: http://www.huntingbears.com.ve/ Twitter/Identi.ca: @LuisAlejandro ED51 8FE7 4107 715D 0464 8366 F614 5A95 E78D AA2E CODE IS POETRY signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

Not what you mean -- although there is pristine-tar to enable one to discard the actual tarball and recreate it from git later. > As more and more projects are moving to git, this IMHO would make > things easier for those projects. > > I'm currently (re)packaging wwwoffle, and optimially I'd just like > to push a signed tag (to the debianized branch) and let the > machinery run ;-) You should probably read the thread starting here: http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2012/05/msg00828.html as you can see, you're not the first to think that. It seems like a pretty good idea, if the issues can be solved. Packaging entirely via git
Hi folks, is there already a way for maintaining debian packages entirely with git - without the orig tarball ? As more and more projects are moving to git, this IMHO would make things easier for those projects. I'm currently (re)packaging wwwoffle, and optimially I'd just like to push a signed tag (to the debianized branch) and let the machinery run ;-) cu -- -- Enrico Weigelt, metux IT service -- http://www.metux.de/ phone: +49 36207 519931 email: weig...@metux.de mobile: +49 151 27565287 icq: 210169427 skype: nekrad666 -- Embedded-Linux / Portierung / Opensource-QM / Verteilte Systeme -- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-devel-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
