  No, because g++ 3.4 and 4.0 are ABI compatible:

% g++-3.4 -E -dM -  /dev/null | awk '/GXX_ABI/ {print $3}'
1002

% g++-4.0 -E -dM -  /dev/null | awk '/GXX_ABI/ {print $3}'
1002
