we'll definitly still be hacking at this time. at least some of us!

casual hacking, in small or big groups, or alone. from the wiki page:
"MiniDebCamp is some days of hacking on Debian and related stuff. No
orga, no overhead, we just meet somewhere nice and interesting, and hack
hack hack. "

(so no talks neither.)

https://wiki.debian.org/DebianEvents/be/2020/MiniDebCamp
lists currently 42 people, but only approx. 23 will already show up on
wednesday. there's quite a big chunk coming on friday only.

I also expect like 10 more people who didnt register.

Hi Holger,

I'm not sure I got back to you on this mail...

The Kubernetes team is having some events in the hackerspace too in the
evening (18:30 until 23:00). Do you think you will be finished at that
point, or would we be better setting up a second spot for them to be
able to have their workshops too?

What form factor will your debconf be in? Will you do small hackathons,
or will it be more in a presentation style  form factor? Do you already
have an idea of the size of the group you'll be expecting?

You asked for the opening hours of Antidote (the restaurant at ground
floor) and the climbing wall.
If you order for more than 5 persons, I would recommend (at both places)
to announce it (unless you enjoy the place, and are not on a tight schedule)

Antidote:

 * Sunday    Closed
 * Monday    9am–6pm
 * Tuesday    9am–6pm
 * Wednesday    9am–6pm
 * Thursday    9am–12am
 * Friday    9am–12am
 * Saturday    Closed
 * Phone: +32 473 24 01 23

Petit Île (climbing wall):

 * Sunday    10am–8pm
 * Monday    12–11pm
 * Tuesday    12–11pm
 * Wednesday    12–11pm
 * Thursday    12–11pm
 * Friday    12–11pm
 * Saturday    12–8pm
 * Phone: +32 491 95 12 48

On of us well be around regularly to help you with practical issues.

Linux.be offices was nice for the video team because we had a space
where we could leave equipment safely without having to pack it up every
day, they were also very welcoming and fine with people sleeping over
and taking showers there. Not 100% sure whether that's possible at the
hackerspace, linux.be might still be a better option for the video
sprint but if you have more information on what's possible at the
hackerspace, then that could help the video team to coordinate at the
next IRC meeting.

We have a server room, where we also stock our valuables. I'm guessing
we could hand a key to one person. In any case, there are plenty of
unused spaces in the building. It would strongly surprise me if I
wouldn't get permission to use one to lock up your video gear.

Sleeping is a tough issue... The building nor hackerspace are insured
for overnighting. So whatever you do, do it wisely.

As far as I know, there are no showers in our building. There might be
one at the climbing wall (that's on the other side of the building),
would have to ask for that. We do have a kitchenette with hot water.

We've got a pretty solid network- and internet connection, so I think
internal and external traffic shouldn't pose any problems for sending
out a video stream.

Hope to be seeing you in January,
Jurgen

P.S. wherever you end up... you're certainly invited for Bytenight :)

so I was just made aware of
https://lists.fosdem.org/pipermail/fosdem/2019q4/002944.html where the
Brussels hackerspace (HSBXL) offered their space
(https://media.hsbxl.be/intro.webm) for groups like us.

Assuming this offer still stands, I believe a group of Debian
enthusiasts would like to come by from Wednesday to Friday before
FOSDEM. Do you think that would be possible so that we can "officially"
start planning this?

I suppose that would mean creating a wiki page and collecting info who
will be attending so that we all have a better idea what will be
happening there. Assuming that FOSDEM attracts *many* Debian developers
(more than 100?) I'd expect at least 23 people showing up on Wednesday
(though wouldn't be surprised about less, it's a work week after all) and
maybe 42 on Friday... and as I remember the space from this FOSDEM I
think even 42+23 people would fit.

What do you think, can we, shall we, do this?
