As far as I can tell, no rpc.lockd is available for Debian.  In any case, I
don't appear to be running it.  I am not using nolock.

IIRC, you were using a mix of kernel versions, and it was suggested that
you use the nolock mount option. Did you try this? Perhaps if you said
what kernel & nfs version is on each machine, what you're using as mount
options, etc., we would have some idea of what's happening.

Are you running rpc.lockd? Mounting with nolock? You really need to
