I was just thinking about possible other means to get years old bugs or other release stoppers from getting some looking at. After reading that bug I must agree with Jeroen that changing that in this stage of the release is just not wise. It doesn't really matter when you became aware of the problem - there's not enough time now to thoroughly test for any adverse effects of that change, while the gain is relatively minimal (rather have sarge use more diskspace than delay it yet again because of new bugs). This is definately worth looking at - for etch. Thijs -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The idea is to either make these: a Debian 'bug' check ala Knuth, actaully dinero, a mention on a webpage, an invite to a local gathering of the debian tribe in your area, a gift certificate from ThinkGeek, a beer-of-the-month club subscription or something to get the cat accross the great tundra. now back to your regularly schedule programming Cheers, Kev -- counter.li.org #238656 -- goto counter.li.org and be counted! _, _, ,'`. `$$' `$$' `. ,' $$ $$`' $$ $$ _, _ ,d$$$g$$ ,d$$$b. $$,d$$$b.`$$' g$b.`$$,d$$b. ,$P' `$$ ,$P' `Y$. $$$' `$$ $$ "' `$$ $$$' `$$ $$'$$ $$' `$$ $$'$$ $$ ,g$$ $$' $$ $$ $$ $$g$$ $$ $$ $$ ,$P" $$ $$$$ $$,$$ $$. $$,$P $$ $$' ,$$ $$$$ `$g. ,$$$ `$$._ _., $$ _,g$P' $$ `$b. ,$$$ $$$$ `Y$$P'$$. `YP',P"' ,$$. `Y$$P'$$.$$. ,$$. signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Given the fact that the current standard installation installs both gcc, gdb and other development packages weighting more than that (see #301138, which nobody wants to fix) I don't find that an issue. The general aim is that libselinux1 will be in base for Etch. When that happens sysvinit, cron, pam, ssh, and every xdm type program can depend on libselinux1 and therefore can provide the required SE Linux functionality. For people who don't use SE Linux the support in those programs will only take a few K of disk space and will not give a performance overhead. -- http://www.coker.com.au/selinux/ My NSA Security Enhanced Linux packages http://www.coker.com.au/bonnie++/ Bonnie++ hard drive benchmark http://www.coker.com.au/postal/Postal SMTP/POP benchmark http://www.coker.com.au/~russell/ My home page -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
