Debian's menu system is useful for window managers that don't use fd.o
specifications, unlike Gnome and KDE. The two can co-exist perfectly
happily.

Yes, the Debian menu sucks, but adding it to a fd.o menu implementation
is trivial using menu-xdg, so it’s not a big cost.

Please don’t respawn the “Debian menu vs. fd.o menu” discussion. The two
systems have so different philosophies and goals that they should be
considered as entirely different entities, that can exist together.
