Siggy is willing to work on mgetty again. He'll be available again,
soon.

No. What happened is this:

 * You handed the package over to me. I uploaded several versions
into unstable. (Bug reports are now going to me.) The person
posting that message must have been using an old version, from 1.2.
I never made a release of mgetty to stable since there were no
   serious bugs to fix.
 * Several months ago, I handed the package over to Siggy -- a couuple
of days before he had a fire. I finally figured out what happened,
so I handed it over to a different person.
 * This person uploaded a new version to master, but it has been
sitting in Incoming for over 10 days now.

Is there an imposter around? My last upload must have been half a year ago or
so.
Maybe someone just forgot to change the maintainer name again.

OK, I had just let somebody else know that they could go ahead and
develop mgetty for Debian. I do remember the fire, I had handed
mgetty to him right before that happened. About a month or so later,
he sent me an e-mail saying that he'd have a new version uploaded in
about 2 weeks. That e-mail was probably about a month ago also.
After I started receiving e-mails about people complaining, I tried
contacting Siggy again (probably about a week ago) but didn't get any
response, so I posted here. If you could relay the message to Siggy
to talk about mgetty with the new developer, I'd appreciate it.

Christoph maintained mgetty before I did; the mgetty in rex still has
Christoph's name in it; however, the one in bo should have my info in
it. That is, unless Christoph Debianized a newer version of mgetty
without letting me know...

Hi,

i will get it; and i think voice should also included.

Mgetty is with the current state of libc -> libc6 a little bit hard to test
it. But we will see ..

mgetty Needs Maintainer!

1997-06-08 Thread John Goerzen
Hello,

Some time ago, I handed mgetty over to Siggy Brentrup. However, I
have not yet seen any mgetty uploaded by him and have not received any
response to my e-mails.

So...would somebody be willing to take over mgetty? Right now, it
doesn't have any maintainer...
