Did you use make-kpkg (in package kernel-package) to build your
kernel? If not, you should. After building a kernel-image, you
should then be able to build modules-image and have a kernel and
device3dfx-module package you can install.

I compiled it fairly recently (maybe 2-3 weeks ago) for a friend's box with
a non-debian 2.2.15pre kernel, and had no major issues that I recall, other
than for some reason *needing* to 'rm -rf' the modules/device3dfx directory
and re-extracting between builds. not sure why it doesn't clean up properly
on its own, and I haven't check the BTS to find out if others have noticed
it too.

Am I the only one where make-kpkg modules-image fails on devicd3dfx? I
have to do it manually! But maybe that's related to my non debian
2.2.14 Kernel???

Package: libglide2-v3
Depends: libc6 (>= 2.1.2), xlib6g (>= 3.3.6), device3dfx-module
Recommends: glide2-base, device3dfx-source

compile devicd3dfx-source and you are done :)

And is someone upgrading it's severity? Hrm, forget about what I just said.
And is someone fixing that bug?

That's an already reported bug.

fania:~# apt-cache show pipsecd
Package: pipsecd
Version: 1:19990511-14
...
The `userlink' dependency can be satisfied by installing and compiling the
`userlink-source' package.

I think this should be libgl1. This bug doesn't seem to be reported
yet, so you should send a bug report. It looks like a typo when fixing Bug
#59594 . I've Cc'ed the maintainer of the package, Tommi Virtanen.

That's Bug #57702, but it's not release critical, although it makes the
package uninstallable!

unmets in potato

2000-03-11 Thread Alexander N. Benner
Hi

I just updated my potato system, so except of 9 Packages who got updated in
the last 3 hours :-} I should have a system as it is represented by
ftp.de.debian.org.

I still have 4 unmet dependencies:

python-base (interpret) depends on libdb1.85
libdb1.85 does not appear to be available

pipsecd (non-US) depends on userlink
userlink does not appear to be available

wmanager (X11) depends on libgl
libgl does not appear to be available

libglide2-v3 (libs) depends on device3dfx-module
device3dfx-module does not appear to be available

I donnow if that's already known. To it, I had two file conflicts, where the
packages were only installed due to my "--force-overwrite".

one in the tex section, but I sadly forgot by now which one it was :-(
and the otherone with communikator 472:

Unpacking netscape-java-472 (from .../netscape-java-472_4.72-15_all.deb) ...
dpkg - warning, overriding problem because --force enabled:
 trying to overwrite
`/usr/lib/netscape/472/netscape/java/classes/font.properties.ru', which is
also in package netscape-base-472
...

Hope that helps growing a good potato :-) ... greatings
