this is based on the Univention Corporate Server which is based on Debian.

Univention: http://www.univention.com

The u...@school link always sends me to the german page:

http://www.univention.de/schule.html

It has no connection to Debian Edu.

I don't see what answering the question either way would acomplish ?
the ltsp-tjener or workstation would connect to and work with whatever

I thought the wiki already had one?

Anyway, I test in kvm because I already have a kvm server handy and
expect others will test with whatevery they have handy too. I have no
virtualbox experience myself, so I hope others might be able to help
you.

Putting debian-edu@ again back on the reciving list, in case the other

Hi Petter,

I'm testing Lenny for a primary school in Italy with 10 thin client.
I'm testing with VMWare and one Alix3d3 client.
The plan is to use an HP server (any suggestion?) and Alix3d3 thin
clients (or diskless workstations).
I think I will need your help in the next days :)

Thank you and Ciao!

I'm not aware of any bugzilla report on bugs.skolelinux.org about
atftpd timeouts, nor any changes being done to the system that should
affect any atftpd timeouts, so I would be surprised if this change
with a new installation. The description make me suspect a network
problem, and not a problem with the installation. Could it be a
problem with your virtualbox network?

The count is for network installs (not using DVD), as these are the
only ones with a working network configuration during installation.
It is not unique hosts, but number of times someone ran the
installation.

These are the numbers between the start of the log 2010-02-21 06:25

Hi!

It would be a nice feature if some future release would detect a running
(older or actual) tjener and ask for connecting to it (ldap,
/skole/home0, cups,...) when installing workstation- or ltsp-profile.

e.g.:
You are installing debian-edu/skolelinux workstation/ltsp-server {actual
version}. A skolelinux mainserver {different version} was found. Should
this installation run with this server or are you planning to connect
with a {actual version}-mainserver?

I've now investigated, and the problem is with the portmap package,
reported as #571131. I've spoken with Anibal about it, and he hoped
to have a fix uploaded in a day or so. Hopefully it will both revert
the default to listen to all interfaces, and also to make it possible
to preseed the setting.

Bug#570773: squeeze: LDAP connections using TLS do not work

> Something is wrong with the generation and/or with the distribution of the
> LDAP SSL certificate. LDAP connections using TLS do not work.

I suspect the cause of my problems during testing is that I install on
a network where the 'ldap' DNS name already exist, causing the
installer to download the wrong server certificate to
/etc/ldap/ssl/ldap-server-pubkey.pem on the main server (it should be
copied from the local disk instead). The certificate is then wrong
when I disconnect the main-server from the local network to test it
after installation.

If I am right, this problem will affect lenny installations too.

I have added some test code to testsuite/ldap-server in svn to detect
when that happen, and hope it will make it posible to verify my
suspicion.

I'm not commiting to svn, if that is what you mean. But I believe it
would be a good idea to do so, as having unused preseeding values in
