Hi Petter, I'm testing Lenny for a primary school in Italy with 10 thin client. I'm testing with VMWare and one Alix3d3 client. The plan is to use an HP server (any suggestion?) and Alix3d3 thin clients (or diskless workstations). I think I will need your help in the next days :) Thank you and Ciao! I'm not aware of any bugzilla report on bugs.skolelinux.org about atftpd timeouts, nor any changes being done to the system that should affect any atftpd timeouts, so I would be surprised if this change with a new installation. The description make me suspect a network problem, and not a problem with the installation. Could it be a problem with your virtualbox network? I was curious, and had a look at the background data for the network install counting being graphed on http://maintainer.skolelinux.no/munin/skolelinux.no/administrator.skolelinux.no-edu_installs.html >. The count is for network installs (not using DVD), as these are the only ones with a working network configuration during installation. It is not unique hosts, but number of times someone ran the installation. block 570776 by 571131 thanks [Petter Reinholdtsen] > I suspect this is a problem in the portmap package, but have not > investigated why the preseeding fail. I've now investigated, and the problem is with the portmap package, reported as #571131. I've spoken with Anibal about it, and he hoped to have a fix uploaded in a day or so. Hopefully it will both revert the default to listen to all interfaces, and also to make it possible to preseed the setting. Bug#570773: squeeze: LDAP connections using TLS do not work
[Holger Levsen] > Something is wrong with the generation and/or with the distribution of the > LDAP SSL certificate. LDAP connections using TLS do not work. > > Filing as serious as having LDAP configured out of the box is a core > feature of Debian Edu. I suspect the cause of my problems during testing is that I install on a network where the 'ldap' DNS name already exist, causing the installer to download the wrong server certificate to /etc/ldap/ssl/ldap-server-pubkey.pem on the main server (it should be copied from the local disk instead). The certificate is then wrong when I disconnect the main-server from the local network to test it after installation. If I am right, this problem will affect lenny installations too. I have added some test code to testsuite/ldap-server in svn to detect when that happen, and hope it will make it posible to verify my suspicion.
