Upload rights
Hi, as discussed on irc I'm hereby asking for upload rights for the Skolelinux archive. Since about one year I've been contributing to the project in different ways; my Alioth account name is schweer-guest. At the moment I'm trying to figure out needed changes for Debian Edu to get along with Debian Wheezy. Having upload rights could speed up the process. Being in no way a skilled programmer or some such, it will be necessary to get some mentoring. I wonder if this wiki article provides still up-to-date and sufficient information: http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/Contribute/Development I've created a new 4096 bit gpg key, should be available on keyservers now. Key id: F4311B4C, primary uid: Wolfgang Schweer additional uid: Wolfgang Schweer . fingerprint: 52D1 699F C5E2 9F85 3DD6 D288 17EC B0D7 F431 1B4C Other source for the fingerprint on irc. The authentication method has changed completely in squeeze. Instead of storing a hashed password in LDAP as it has been the case in Lenny, Squeeze uses Kerberos keys. These are also some kind of a user's password, but can also be used to encrypt any connection over the network. There is no way to convert the password hash from Lenny to a Kerberos principal key, so you have to create these from clear text passwords. I am not familliar with the samba stuff however. 'krbPrincipalKey' and 'sambaMungedDial'
Hi, while trying to upgrade to squeeze and restore old passwords, i had a look to the ldap in squeeze. I found the two attributes 'krbPrincipalKey' and 'sambaMungedDial'. Can someone tell me, what is the use of these two attributes and how they are generated? Is there a relation between the userpassword and these two attributes? Actually i try to replace the value of the attributes 'userPassword', 'sambaLMPassword', 'sambaNTPassword' from the squeeze ldap with the values from the lenny ldap.
