CipUX cat-web (first code)
Hi, the first code for cipux-cat-web is out: http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/cipux/trunk/cat-web/src/?rev=0sc=0 This new application is a CGI GUI for administrate users, groups of Debian-Edu/ Skolelinux. (And may be Edubuntu or plain Debian) It is a replacement for cat-webmin and wlus and probably netgroups (Benedik Wildenhain is working on that). So it can be installed for example with apache. Unlike webmin no root rights are needed for execution of the CGI. It uses the CipUX-XML-RPC server (Version 3.2.12) Features: - full template driven + css. (We will have fancy layouts soon) - ticket based security, no passwords will be saved. - tickets have configurable timeout after last access or use logout function. - easy to write new modules (about 100-150 line of code each) - role based security layer for the modules (runtime configurable) - role based security layer for the RPC functions (runtime configurable) - it uses Formbuilder - own library with powerful functions The software have to be considered as alpha, an was tested for 1 month. It will be beta soon. And can be in productive usage in about some weeks if CipUX 3.2.12 is out and we find some testers. An early screen shot can be seen here: http://screenshot.cipux.org/3.2.12/cat-web/cipux_3.2.12_cat_web_groupadmin_default_en_pre.png Status of the modules: groupadmin.cgi 100% useradmin.cgi 90% tutoradmin.cgi30% There a some more modules to port. I think it will take 4h per module to migrate. Also there is no package Makefile written. This will also take some hours. Cheers Christian ps: cipux-cat-web is not a replacement for CipuxPHP or other moodle plugins, which focus more on teachers and other users. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Re: CipUX cat-web (first code)
Hi, Holger Levsen schrieb: I tried to build it in an etch chroot and it worked, yay! :) I could also install all packages, except cipux-webmin (expected, as webmin is not included in etch) and cipux-rpc. cipux-rpc is uninstallable because of missing packages libauthen-simple-perl and libauthen-simple-pam-perl. yes Please includes these packages in your efforts, atm the source for thosepackages (for me) is http://developer.skolelinux.no/~holger/ but I doubt thats the location you use :-) Where do you get the packages from? BTW, looking at libauthen-simple-pam-perl-0.02/debian/copyright this is not enough, please read http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2006/03/msg00023.html and fix accordingly. (I guess this is the case for -simple-perl as well, but I have not checked.) ?? I did not wrote this modules. But the last time I looked at the source, I found a OSI approved license. Did that change? (The debian/copyright for cipux looks good in this regards, but it mentions another svn-repository than above. Doh! :) Yes it moved from cvs.cipworx.org to svn.cipux.org to svn.debian.org fixed. Running linda and lintian at the source packages gives only one error (outdated version of policy, please upgrade to 3.7.2) but running it on the @Xavier can you fix that? binary packages gives lots of errors: from linda: W: cipux-cibot; Executable /usr/lib/cipux/sbin/migrate_3.2.10_to_3.2.11 with perms 0755 is not an ELF file or script. should be fixed in svn W: cipux-cibot; File /usr/lib/cipux/sbin/cipux_setup contained in /usr/lib of Architecture: all package. can somebody explain that?
