No It was for the efika ;) So you don't have to bring a 2.5" with you if you
will not work on it..

I will ask Sven if he can bring an other machine you was asking for..

I wont. The efika needs 2.6.20 kernel, while etch only has 2.6.18...
I'm interested in fixing etch, not working on lenny ;-)

The problem ppc currently has, is automated or guided installation of lvm.

sorry, did not notice that amd64 is ready to test.

I've just downloaded the first cd-image, and will test do a installation
on weekend.

Sven told me that he will bring an efika at the devcamp

efika:/# cat /proc/cpuinfo
processor : 0
cpu : G2_LE
clock : 396.00MHz
revision: 1.4 (pvr 8082 2014)
bogomips: 65.53
timebase: 3300
platform: Efika
machine : EFIKA5K2 CHRP PowerPC System
revision: 2B3
vendor : bplan

So you will be able to test debian-edu on this hardware.
Otherwise bring an 2.5 harddrive with you ;)

Not at the moment ;-) the ppc-port (as the amd64 one) needs more testers!

Dear Holger,

this is interesting for our (quite small yet) picture collection: Can
you provide free licensed pictures of fancy (translucent) ibooks or
powerPCs that show an obvious proof of running Debian(Edu)?

Maybe with some Apple-props and typically smart-looking Mac-user with a
content smile in his/her face?

/me voting for h0lger as Debian model #1

I believe that it is good to have a base of pictures we can use for
fancy press releases.

Kind regards
Ralf

PowerPC (Mac) wanted for DevCamp 2007 in France

2007-02-13 Thread Holger Levsen
Hi,

can anybody bring a powerpc mac to the Developer Camp next week in Soissons?
I'm looking for a newworld machine, so this means it's an apple desktop (with
a translucend case) or ibook/powerbook.

If needed, I can bring a (2.5" oder 3.5") harddrive, so that I dont need to
whipe your system :)

This would greatly help to finish the remaining glitch(es?) of the debian-edu
powerpc port...!

regards,
Holger
