Hello kmaziz, Sunday, February 11, 2007, 1:17:12 PM, you wrote: > Ive bought a HP J6700, and ive been reading that the FX10-Pro graphics card is not supported on any linux dist. Why is that? Is it possible to put in a supported graphic card and use Xorg with it? If not, why? Has anyone done it? How is it to install debian-hppa? is it similar to the regular install of debian? Is debian-hppa exacly the same as regular debian? Installation is very very easy, but performance of the system is a really bad. The 50% performance against HP-UX (mentioned on the website) seems to be the truth (on my C3700). Main reason is - as usual - the bad code quality of the gcc compiler for PA-RISC. -- Best regards, Lothar Scholz mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". questions on J6700 and its FX10-pro graphics card
Ive bought a HP J6700, and ive been reading that the FX10-Pro graphics card is not supported on any linux dist. Why is that? Is it possible to put in a supported graphic card and use Xorg with it? If not, why? Has anyone done it? How is it to install debian-hppa? is it similar to the regular install of debian? Is debian-hppa exacly the same as regular debian? best regards
