I don't have a box w/ webmin on it right now, but I last used it two weeks ago. No downloading is needed unless the module isn't packaged correctly (e.g. needs some compiling, etc.). Re: vmailmgr issue
I don't know about vmailmgr, but from what I remember, vpopmail was the newer version of vmailmgr (I *think*), and I have vpopmail running very nicely along with courier-imapd, courier-pop, qmail, sqwebmail, and qmailadmin... Everything works like a champ. I installed everything from source (I'm anal like that, and like full control over config flags and what-not). Anyhow, give that a shot. More detailed vpopmail and qmail info is available at http://www.inter7.com. Hope this helps! Eric I'm sure there is a way... I'm just bashing my head against the wall now... I'm attempting to setup vmailmgr on my Sid box and I can't get it to run. I first installed from source but I wasn't sure of the install so I alien'ed the RPMs and now I feel - slighly - more confedent. I had to move some files around but it _looks_ right. I've also installed ucspi-tcp but this did not give me a needed file unixserver. Has anyone gotten vmailmgr to run on a Debian box? Is there some deb's anywhere? I couldn't find any. pppd and kernel 2.4.9
Hello! I upgrade the tools to run kernel2.4.9 and the problem is that pppd dont work. The version 2.3.11 also dont work. It does not assign the IP. With kernel 2.2.19 pppd 2.3.11 works right. Is there any change that I have to do to the conf files? Is there a known problem? The upgraded packages are from p.d.o/~bunk/[...]/ppp_2.4.1-0.bunk_i386.deb -- Carlos Barros. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? This time I got qmail, vpopmail AND qmail admin working AND I can USE it :) kindof When attempting to start qmail I get: alert: cannot start: unable to read controls A search on google mainly returns the manpage for qmail-log ... not really any help. Looking at some other issues I checked the perms for both /var/lib/qmail and /var/qmail, etc. and made sure they were all the same (alias.qmail). Any ideas? qmail was installed from apt (qmail-src, build-qmail, etc.) I hate admining email... no wonder I've never had to do this before. Re: Apache mod_auth_pam
From the keyboard of Jeremy, At the moment I'm using mod_auth_pam for userauthentication on special webfolders. /etc/shadow have to be accessed by apache And second some password-results aren't exposed like the root-pw and the accounts to maintain the machine. How the root-pw or hash of it could be exposed? If you are using standard http user authentication is is not encrypted or secure. The usernames and passwords are passwd via plain text. O.k. that is clear. But nobody login as root to see some webalizer statistics. Only userpasswords could be seen, but if you have ftp-accounts you also could sniff the passwords. bye Waldemar -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
