apt-get connection failed
Hey, Just recently, have installed apt-proxy and its been working fine except for 2 of my servers, whenever they try to 'apt-get update' i get Connection Failed to the apt proxy server, but i know the apt-proxy server is working as my other 5 servers can axs it perfectly fine. These 2 serves one is a squid with a transparent proxy and the other is a plain old barebone server, they dont have any wierd iptable lines running, so im left scratching my head wondering if anyone else has hit such a problem?? The wierd thing is if i chagne the source to like mirror.aarnet.edu.au from my apt proxy it works fine, but i have the *exact* same sources.list as all the other servers Help... I have been using PHPGroupware for a while now and it has been very easy to setup and maintain. Works with a lot of IMAP servers, LDAP support + all the (un)useful apps that come with the package. I think it is also debianized :-) - Original Message - From: "Russell Coker" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Gerard MacNeil" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; "Debian ISP" Sent: Monday, June 17, 2002 1:49 AM Subject: Re: webmail > On Mon, 17 Jun 2002 00:41, Gerard MacNeil wrote: > > > What's a good webmail system to use? > > > > I have tried "most" Debianized Webmail package combinations. Take a look at vmailmgr (www.vmailmgr.org) I use it in conjunction with qmail and courier-imap on several servers without any significant problems. I've had acmemail running for some time, but it's bugginess and _slw_ness closely resemble certain MS-prdoucts. All the others I've had a look at required something I'm not willing to install on my servers, so it got to be one that's either perl, C, or PHP, and actually _works_. squirrelmail was the only one I could find which matched those requirements, but YMMV, of course. cheers, &rw -- / Ing. DNS with LDAP ?
Hi Currently I'm in the process of planing the migration of the config and user information to a central LDAP database for as many services as possible. Has anyone succeeded in keeping all DNS data (currently I'm using bind with the usual zone files) in an LDAP database? If possible, I'd like avoid an LDAP-to-DNS-config export, a live query wrapper would be preferred. I don't mind changing from bind to anything else (if secure). ldapdns (which is said to run without djbdns by now) looks somehow like what I'm heading for, but apart from that it wouldn't compile complaining about missing ldap libs, some questions remain. Like, how to I configure and/or initiate 2ndary NS notifies, restrict zone transfers, is it secure and stable etc. Anyone experience here? To lower the load on the LDAP server, would a caching ns be advisable? Any hints appreciated! TIA, Marcel -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? It will work well on SMP. Note howevere that threading in MySQL is meant to handle one connection/query per thread. Thus, you will get better results only if you run simultaneous queries. Finally, remember that some (not-so-fine-grained) locking happens on write operations, and that your disk subsystem is hardly multithread.
