Postfix Mail Delivery Abberation

2002-06-25 Thread Gene Grimm

Has anyone ever had problems with Postfix mailbox delivery combining two
messages into one? The specific cases typically involves spam and other
garbage mail where the next message is read as part of the garbage message
(see below). If so, can anyone suggest how to correct the problem so we
won't lose track of important messages. I presume this also affects our
clients mail as well.

Right now I'm without SUEXEC. Frontpage has its own SUID binary for
executing users' scripts with their own privileges.

The only spam filters currently used are the Postfix body_checks and
header_checks rejection filters. We do not presently have any external spam

INVESTMENT BREQUEST

2002-06-25 Thread TAMBO SISULU
INVESTMENT REQUEST

Compliment of the season! It is indeed my pleasure to
write to you this letter, which i believe, will be a big
surprise as we are both complete strangers. I work for
the Ministry of Minerals and Energy in South Africa, and
by this letter I am representing and also acting on behalf
of two of my senior colleague (The Director General and
The Group General Manager) whose mandate I have got
to contact a trusted and reliable foreign based
businessman, concerning the business matter of mutual
benefit to all.

By this mandate given to me, we are in dire need of a
foreign partner to assist us in the transfer/investment of
USD 15,00,000,00. (fifteen Million, United States
Dollars). The key issues are the transfer and the
subsequent investment of the said sum. We are ready to
go into an agreement with you and also offer you a
negotiable fee for putting together an investment portfolio.

It does not matter whether or not you own a company or
you have invested funds before. We shall guide you on
what to do. The basis will be that a major company won
a contract and subcontracted it to you. More often, big
trading companies and firms of unrelated field win
contracts and subcontracts to more specialized firms for
execution.

We shall follow strictly all the legal procedures entailed in
our laws and international laws in transferring the funds to
you. The source of the funds is legitimate and
authoritative.

Please, be informed that under the South Africa
Government monetary policy, strategic positioned
government officials are not allowed to operate or own
bank account overseas, hence our need for a foreign
partner to front for us.

We pray that you take the essence of this letter in strict
confidence, as the two officials involved would not like to
be exposed on this. Kindly notify me via my e-mail, upon
you acceptance to assist us. Further details will be made
available to you as soon as you reply.
We shall provide you with our confidential phone and fax
number, once there is positive response from you.

Thank you and God bless, as we wait for your urgent
response

Best Regards.
ENGR. TAMBO SISULU

Sure, just compile apache (and possibly PHP if you want/need it) from

You can find the patches and installation info at

vpopmail packaging

2002-06-25 Thread Loren Jordan
I have been trying to package up vpopmail into a .deb and have made a lot
of progress using the original vpopmail package available from SID(version
4.9.9)

I have been having a lot of troubles with it though, the Makefile is made
such that it only installs the vpopmail files inside of the vopmail users
~/ dir. I have posted a message to the vpopmail list and got no replies
from anybody about it. The trouble is I don't want to write my own
makefile (part of debian/rules) in the source package because every time
something changes in the up-stream source, the rules file must change.
I don't know much about the automake,autoconf,etc... so coming up with a
useful patch for the upstream version of makefile.am and configure.[am/in]
files is proving to be a lot of hair pulling for me.

If anybody has made more progress on this, I can find something else to
occupy my already busy time...

Thanks for any info,
Loren

 Best regards,

I thought Sanjay (please excuse me if I got your name wrong, as the last
time I communicated with you was a year ago and I am working from memory)
created the original vpopmail debs?
So insteaed of recreating the wheel, why not start from there instead? I
know that perhaps the latest vpopmail stuff is incompatible with the
previous, but at least it may help to have a base to start from.
On another note... do you plan on making it easy for those of us using the
previous older vpopmails? We use the vpopmail packages, and it would be
terrible if we had to manually upgrade each box. Perhaps some sort of
upgrade script or program, or SOME way to upgrade as painlessly as
possible? I am sure those of us using the existing vpopmail implementation
would be greatful (at least I would!).
Thanks.

take a look at http://208.45.228.30/~ted/vpopmaildebs/

The debs are compiled against mysql 3.23 (from woody, as opposed to 3.22
from potato), but you should be able to recompile from the sources against
whichever you like.

qmailadmin and vqadmin are included, but you'll probably need to recompile
them if you recompile vpopmail. (install libvpopmail-dev before compiling
qmailadmin and vqadmin of course).

I'm not an official debian package maintainer, so these may be less useful
than others would produce, but they're working for me.

I'd love to see these current and in woody!
