RE: Woody routing question...

2002-08-12 Thread Sean Cardus
Hi All,

Thanks in advance for all the responses I received to my question.
Apologies for not replying to those who responded - I was in the process
of drafting up some nice ASCII diagrams of the network(s) involved when
J.J. van Gorkum responded with the following jewel of info:

 look at http://www.samag.com/documents/s=1824/sam0201h/0201h.htm

This basically allowed me to get everything up and running more-or-less
as I wanted by doing the following...

# apt-get install iproute
# ip rule add from xxx.yy.234.131 lookup 1
# ip route add 0/0 via xxx.yy.234.129 table 1
# ip rule add from aaa.bbb.80.144 lookup 2
# ip route add 0/0 via aaa.bbb.80.130 table 2

Fantastic!...

Again, thank-you to everyone who pondered over this one for me...

Sean

of course, sorry about that:

sql.sock --enable-thread-safe-client --datadir=/home/mysql/share

thanx in advance,

Can you post what ./configure line you used?

Re: ClamAV and Amavis-Postfix

2002-08-12 Thread Germán Gutierrez

 Gene Grimm escribio:
Has anyone tried configuring the Amavis-Postfix package in Woody to use
ClamAV as the scanner engine? Would I be better off installing the
Amavis tarball rather than the Amavis-Postfix pacakge? To my knowledge
thus far, ClamAV is the only free virus scanner for commercial use other
 than the Java-dependant OpenAntiVirus package.

I've been playing with that for a few days, some hints:
The clamav package is not in woody, you have to install both .debs (clamav
amavis-postfix) from the unstable tree, it works, just read some docs and
play a little with the /etc/amavisd.conf file.
Anyway the oav database seems to be pretty outdated, at least the last time
I saw it...

I've got Amavis-Postfix installed from Woody (Stable), and a tarball of
ClamAV. There is an autoupdate tool in the ClamAV package to update the
virus definitions that seems to work alright, but I will try the
versions from Unstable if they work. Thanx.

Gentlemen,

I am wanting to setup a good virus scanner for exim. I tried out
mailscanner, but it bombs with an error. I tried to fix the error,
but I got frustrated. I would like to use mailscanner or even the
santizer. Do you guys have any suggestions or even a preference over
one or the other?

Sincerely,

Sophos is considered by many in the security industry to be one of the best.
BUT, it is commercial (in other words...green). It supports MANY MANY MANY
platforms and is basically an smtp pipe...

thanx in advance,

I had to use a slightly different configure line, because for some
reason it cant find the curses library.

CFLAGS=-O2 CXX=gcc CXXFLAGS=-fno-exceptions ./configure
--enable-assembler --with-innodb
--with-unix-socket-path=/tmp/mysql.sock --enable-thread-safe-client
--datadir=/home/mysql/share
--with-named-curses-libs=/usr/lib/libncursesw.a

However, it compiles for me fine ...
kirin:/usr/local/src/mysql-3.23.51# gcc -v
Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-linux/2.95.4/specs
gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease)
I guess one thing is to make sure you don't use GCC 3.0 or 3.1, as
MySQL say not to use it just yet. Its more strict with ansi C.

Sorry I couldn't offer a magic bullet...
