RE: Debian Backup Server

2002-11-30 Thread Domonkos Czinke
Hi,

If you want to backup your mailserver to another machine, you should use netcat, cat
for eg.

cat /dev/hda1 | netcat -l -p 1234 << do this on the mailserver
netcat 1234 > /backup/backup.img << do this on the backup server

Cheers,
Domonkos Czinke

Files checksum storage on a remote server

2002-09-18 Thread Domonkos Czinke
Title: Files checksum storage on a remote server

Hi all,

I use intergrit (http://integrit.sourceforge.net/) for a while, and i want to store checksum files on a remote fileserver.  Anyone knows a secure  - non-nfs -  remote filesystem [I know CODA is secure, but is it reliable as I need ?] which will be useful for this operation ? Btw if you have any other suggestions to store my checksums securely, i will be happy as well ;)

Cheers,
