Right now I'm without SUEXEC. Frontpage has its own SUID binary for
executing users' scripts with their own privileges.

If you do a lookup on "WC-44-75.washcoll.edu", you'll notice it
doesn't resolve. That's probably the root of your problems.

I haven't used the debian pppoe package, but I can highly recommend
the rp-pppoe one. You can find it at
http://www.roaringpenguin.com/pppoe/ and setting it up is a breeze.

You can (and should) only give the users access to their own database
( in the db table of mysql base). They will be able to see the
existance of other databases, but will not be able to see the tables or
their entries. There is however also a patch (check out the forum on
phpmyadmin's webpage) where you can restrict the users to only see
their "own" database, but it's not in the official distribution.

I'm not very familiar with radiator, but we have been using ic-radius
for about two months now and are very happy with it. We switched to
this from livingston-radius.

What do you consider "larger mails" ? I remember getting up to 10M mails

I disagree, AVP installed automatically, altough avcheck needed to be
installed additionally, but avcheck is a separate product anyway (mailing
list at http://innominate.org/mailman/listinfo/avcheck )

Here we agree, unfortunately :-( But what AV product/combo out there is ?

Actually, AVP with avcheck seem to work splendidly here, in
combination with Postfix, scanning quite a number of mails every day
and blocking the plague of Win32 viruses..
