Re: duplicating servers - remote backup to HD

hi,

is it possible to duplicate multiple directories that are not in the
same root at once without rsyncing the root and excluding all other
dirs?

I want:

rsync -avz server:/dir1 /backup/server1/dir1 \
   server:/dir2 /backup/server1/otherdir/dir2

a so on, but this is bad syntax for rsync. So how can I rsync multiple
dirs?

Thanks!

Tool for changing ips in all needed config files...

2003-12-03 Thread listbot
Hi,

is there a tool to change all occurences of a servers ip-address?

I am trying to sync some servers and want to use ONE basic
configuration for all. Only difference now is the ip in some files in
/etc, that somehow complicates the simple concept of rsyncing all
servers from a master server.

I am sure that someone had this problem before. Could you point me to
some interesting solutions?

Thank you very much for your attention!
