cyrus-imap and active directory
Hi list, I already sent this mail to the info-cyrus list two days ago, but I didn't get any answers. I hope someone here can help me. I want cyrus-imap to authenticate via GSSAPI against our active directory. I am using Debian testing (hoping it will become stable soon) with the according versions of programs and libraries: cyrus21-imapd-2.1.16-4 libsasl2-2.1.15-6 I have set this up so far: - dns is ok, i checked forward and reverse lookup in either way - cyrus is running, I hardly edited /etc/imapd.conf (see file below) - created a service account in AD and mapped to the principal with ktpass - exported a keytab file and transfered it to the Debian box - placed it at /etc/krb5.keytab with ktutil, readable for cyrus Then I wanted to test the auth process with imtest, so I did a kinit with my AD user named tv. Theodore - Why go to Postfix? 1. It was recommended. 2. Didn't know what problems I would have merging cyrus-imap with exim. 3. I had an idiot proof article to help me. Turns out I was wrong about the idiot proof. My problem was in procmail. I made a couple of errors in procmailrc. I have tested both internal and external email with success. Your lead was helpful. The only thing in the article that did not match my configuration was procmailrc. I had failed to put in a closing quote. Still have some interesting problems. Hi! When you discuss about MTA/POP, I have a little problem with Cyrus. I've set up Cyrus IMAP 1.5.19-9 (Debian package) with pam-mysql and I can access only to admin box (although there is no box for it). Here is my confs: # Debian Cyrus imapd.conf configdirectory: /var/lib/cyrus defaultpartition: default partition-default: /var/spool/cyrus/mail partition-news: /var/spool/cyrus/news newsspool: /var/spool/news admins: admin allowanonymouslogin: no popminpoll: 1 umask: 077 # /etc/pam.d/cyrus authsufficient pam_mysql.so user=mailad passwd=x host=localhost db=mailad table=adminuser usercolumn=username passwdcolumn=password crypt=0 account required pam_mysql.so user=mailad passwd=x host=localhost db=mailad table=accountuser usercolumn=username passwdcolumn=password crypt=0 User admin is in the table adminuser. I've symlinked pwcheck to /usr/sbin/pwcheck_pam (was standard) When I telnet to 110 I've seen after 'user admin' Name is a valid mailbox and with 'user root' too!!! ??? is it really pam-mysql only? 'user 0001' reports Invalid user (but it is in table accountuser) pwcheck and inetd are restarted ofcourse. Do you have any experiences with this? cyrus? Thanks for any help! Eudora (Windows/ Mac) IMAP client with Cyrus IMAP Server
I was wondering if anyone has sucessfully intergrated the 5.1 version of the Eudora client with CMU's Cyrus Server. Has anyone had any problems with Eudora 5.1 and Cyrus recently ? >From the release notes, it appears that Eudora has had a long history of bugs related to the IMAP protocol. More specifically, it appears that IMAP was not working for the MAC client until recently. Many people on the Cyrus list complained about Eudora. Despite this negative information about Eudora, we may be implementing the Eudora client with the Cyrus IMAP server. The current Eudora client release notes state that all these bugs are resolved. I worry that the release notes may not tell the full story.
