I just had exactly the same problem, took about an hour to find the problem. Just before the problem first appears i remounted /var with the noexec flag. I had this problem a few weeks ago. I don't know exactly why it was happen. My solution (it worked for me): $ rm -rf /var/spool/postfix $ apt-get --reinstall install postfix I didn't find the error, so i reinstall postfix.
