Rendering a different charset with kmail and konqueror
I have set up KDE to display spanish, which uses UTF-8 as default charset. This works fine. I have setup kmail to use iso8859-1 as the default charset when composing new messages, this also works fine. If I try to use UTF-8 with kmail, I get big boldface and horrible characters. (I could send this message in this way but you would hate me). This also happens with konqueror. You may try to see any HTML page changing before: Options -> Configure Konqueror -> Konqueror Browser -> Appearence -> Default encoding: UTF-8 I noticed this for the first time when I received messages coded with iso8859-2. The characters are bold and huge. Am I missing any font or is this a bug I should submit to KDE? Pablo de Vicente

{kde,qt}-designer templates
This applies to both packages, I could submit 2 bugs and/or post here. So far, Ivan has been real good at keeping this whole ball of wax together, so I'll post here. If you want bugs submitted as well just let me know. According to the source for designer, qt-copy/tools/designer/designer/mainwindow.cpp : 3147 It expects to find the templates for various widgets/dialogs in $(QTDIR)/tools/designer/templates/*.ui I have copied them into that location on my machine, so I can claim it works here. Problem: qt doesn't install templates by default? Solution: copy them into place from debian/rules? I looked at your rules file from qt2.2 source, it's a bit hairy -), but looks like you handle moving some qt-designer stuff around line 162. Suggest adding cp tools/designer/templates/*.ui $(p_designer)/usr/lib/qt2/tools/deigner/templates/ Also add the above dir to debian/qt-designer.dirs. I didn't look at kde specific designer stuff, I imagine very similar. Gordon Sadler

Re: Caitoo/kget

Caitoo is still a part of kdenonbeta...and thus falls under the "not quite ready for prime time yet" or "getting everything ready to move into KDE" As of right now, some 2-3 weeks away from KDE 2.1 being released (if all goes according to schedule) Caitoo is NOT a part of KDE 2.1. Re: Kmail won't send?
John, No bother. BTW, some ISP's are switching to POP3 before SMTP authintication. This is a non-standardized way to help reduce spamming. Have seen several posts by irritated people regarding this implementation... So, make sure you CHECK mail before trying to send mail.
