unresolved in uic

2001-04-10 Thread Michael Kevin O'Brien
Hola~

When trying to use uic I get:

uic: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libqt.so.2: undefined
symbol: viewtortMouseMoveEvent__8QListBoxP11QMouseEvent

Anyone else seeing this? I just installed unstable which pulled in kdelibs,
but nothing looks all that suspect the ldd of libqt.so.

Re: Two K-Mail problems.

2001-04-10 Thread Jaye Inabnit ke6sls

Never tried it. I get them and chain letters all the time thanks to a new
email buddie who thinks it's really neat. They only get moved from INBOX to
TRASH :| But that Email SHOULD be in either your INBOX or Outbox waiting for
next mail check. Check it after it dies, if you can repeat it, then kmail
should have a bug filed direct to kde/kmail.

I'd love to see kmail get the same support as konq cuz konq totally rox!

Re: kmidi/timidity configuration

2001-04-10 Thread John Gay

I've allways use timidity myself. I like the sound it give through my Crystal
ISA card. I've never had any problems with timidity and timidity-patches loading
and configuring automagically on my various Debian systems. The thing I've never
got to work properly was kmidi. It opens, will load a midi file but when I start
playing the file, kmidi shows it playing, but no sound comes out. Timidity works
fine, though. Any info on configuring kmidi will be greatly appreciated by me as
well.

Cheers,

 John Gay

Brahms doesn't run -- what's /dev/sequencer?

2001-04-10 Thread csj
Has anybody managed to get Brahms to run under KDE 2.1? I managed to
compile it cleanly but I get the following error when running it:

alpha:~$ brahms
Well - got no root rights, so the realtime clock rate is
64 Hz now, which may sound ugly sometimes
ERROR: Couldn't open /dev/sequencer to get some information
ERROR: Couldn't open /dev/sequencer to get some information

How do I get this /dev/sequencer to work properly? I also get a
similar message when I run kmid (but not, strangely, kmidi, that
other K midi player).

alpha:~$ kmid

Which QT will you be targeting first off for this? Qt 2.3 or 3.0? Just

pushy. TIA.

probably 2.3 to begin with as it's been doing pretty good and 3.0 last I checked
will require some work in how it's packaged.

In CVS (HEAD) kdelibs/debian/control, I believe you should add flex to
 Build-Depends.

done

In CVS (HEAD) kdebase/debian/control, I believe you should add
binutils-dev to Build-Depends. Unless .. one of the changes was using
ansidecl.h from binutils-dev, but I think I saw a commit that may have
removed it. I can't seem to find the file now, this may be not needed.

will do it just to be safe...it doesn't hurt and can always be removed
later.

Also kdebase, or wherever you put the new kioslave/help
 stuff should depend on python(-base?).

yup...lintian yelled at me a bit ago about this.

Thanks,

Ivan

ok...I didn't think I saw the announcement...where did you see this? There
is no QT 3 packages (except the snapshots) on their ftp site nor a
announcement or any reference of it on their website.

ahhhok...well 3.0 was not announced...qt 3.0 preview seems to have been.
that's another term for beta. :)

either way...it's not on their ftp site. so I guess it's just announced
and not released... :)
