Yes. I see the banner and nothing else with konq. Opera loads if fine and
it's not even a black background.

Add me to that list, however How do we test the man page from Ivan's template

This bug was annoying me as I have a child panel at the top of the screen
with the taskbar in it in KDE 1 style (I don't like the way "external
taskbar" adjusts the widths of the task buttons), and a news ticker in the
space at the bottom...

This (small) patch to kicker/extensions/childpanel/childpanelextension.cpp
seems to fix it. It appears that in the ChildPanelExtension constructor,
someone forgot to call _containerArea->init(), thus not *loading* the
settings (if you look at .kde/share/config/childpanelextension_..._rc, you
can see it *saves* them fine). I noticed this discrepancy between that and
the core Panel constructor and thought something was amiss. =)

Just run 'man ./filename.1'. It will read the man page just like it was
system-wide.
I'm working on organizing that list Ivan sent out, and will repost it minus the
dupes
and grouped in a little bit.

quanta while using 2.2

2001-04-13 Thread David Bishop
I've now upgraded to kde 2.2 alpha, and it shows :-) I've already submitted
a bug report against kmail, but before I did the same against quanta, I
wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. First off, it doesn't
look like quanta has been updated to use the newest qt libraries. Is that a
problem? I.e., when you updated to qt2.2, do all qt apps need to be
recompiled? And if not (i.e., it's backwards compatabile binary-wise) then
do you have any idea of why it is crashing? Here's the bt and output to
terminal, if it helps at all:

manless bins

2001-04-13 Thread David Bishop
Sorry, I got caught up playing around with my new kde and forgot to send this
out. :-) Below is the list of bins that still need man pages. I'll claim
the libarts stuff, as it's related and should be easy, please email me with
what you claim, so as to avoid duping work. Completed man pages can be sent
to either Ivan or me, or both. This shouldn't take too long, but I know it
will be a load off of poor Ivan's back :-). Thanks for any help!

P.S. Though I know it is almost antithetical to life itself, I noticed that
there is a gmanedit package that helps when editing man pages. I won't
mention that it is a gtk app so as not to offend anyone :-P
