Kmail starts fine but pop3s refuses to work with tested servers

But that's a minor problem. No kfmclient window like the konqueror browser or

So what is wrong? What did I miss to upgrade/install???

The cache is configurable in KControl / Web Browsing / Proxies & Cache.
There's an "average cache size" box (can't remember what it is by default)
and a button to clear the cache. You say "Konqueror cache", technically it's
the kio_http cache, and it's at: .kde/share/apps/kio_http/cache
...so if that wasn't where you found your 140 MB, it could well have been
from an older version. Anyone know if konqueror used to dump somewhere else
and / or not obey size limits?

which version of kde/kdm are you using? if it's >= 2.2alpha2, the
setting is in kdmrc, section [Xdmcp], key SourceAddress=true/false.

otherwise i can only ask, if it works with plain xdm - if not, then

KDM and ip aliasing

2001-09-20 Thread Michael Meskes
Hi,

does anyone know how to configure KDM to run on an aliased IP? I do have a
machine running 2 IPs on one network card. For some network reasons I need
KDM to run on the aliased one and not the original one. The clients try to
connect via chooser broadcast and only see the original IP address.

Is there a way to correct this? I tried setting
DisplayManager.sourceAddress but this does not seem to change anything.

Thanks in advance for any hint

Michael

KDevelop also stores any generated documentation in
.kde/share/apps/kdevelop/KDE-Documentation by default. Here that accounts for
17MB of 39MB. KHelpCenter's index can also be a little big (6.4MB here).

Scanning through the latest digest of kde-core-devel, I noticed a developer
just posted a patch to correct a custom font problem in Konsole that might
match your description. I'm not sure if there'll be another offical release on
the 2.2.x tree (anyone know?), so to correct the problem you might be on your
own. If you're into compiling from scratch, you could probably get the patch
from recent postings in the list's archives and compile it in. I think its been
committed to the 2.2 branch in CVS, so just make sure you have the kde-dev
package and its probably good to go. Here's the message pasted from
kde-core-devel-digest, I'd post the patch too but the digest format has so
horribly mangled it you'll probably be better off going straight to the
archives.

Hope this helps,
Mike

I'm really not sure if this is only for me or if anyone else is seeing
the problem but here we go.

When a "custom" font is selected in konsole and "save settings" used
on restart of konsole it defaults to using the "unicode" setting, this
is due to TOPFONT being one to low (or at least it fixed it for me,
not entirely sure of the logic so, maybe there is a better fix)

Its in the KDE_2_2_BRANCH so I thought it best to post the patch -
in i've also made a few quick code cleanups.

Thanks,
Alex
