Help, no kfmclient/konqueror wants to open a window anymore :-0
Hi, I upgraded to kmail from KDE2.2 had to upgrade some other packages, too: ii kde-i18n-de2.2.0-1German i18n files for KDE ii kdebase2.2.1-1KDE core applications ii kdebase-crypto 2.2.1-1KDE core applications (Crypto modules) ii kdebase-doc2.2.1-1Documentation for Applications in kdebase ii kdebase-libs 2.2.1-1KDE libraries and modules for kdebase ii kdelibs3 2.2.1-1KDE core libraries (runtime files) ii kdelibs3-crypt 2.2.1-1KDE core libraries (Crypto Modules) ii kdelibs3-cups 2.2.1-1KDE print system (CUPS support) ii kedit 2.2.1-1A simple text editor for KDE ii kmail 2.2.1-1Mail Client based on QT and KDE ii knode 2.2.1-1News reader for KDE ii konq-plugins 2.2.1-1plugins for Konqueror, the KDE file/web/doc ii konqueror 2.2.1-1KDE's advanced File Manager, Web Browser and ii kview 2.2.1-1A simple image viewer/converter for KDE. ii libarts2.2.1-1aRts Sound system ii libkdenetwork1 2.2.1-1Common libraries needed for KDE network appl ii libkonq3 2.2.1-1Core libraries for KDE's file manager ii libmimelib12.2.1-1mime libraries needed for some KDE applicati Kmail starts fine but pop3s refuses to work with tested servers (fetchmail-ssl works). You say "Konqueror cache", technically it's the kio_http cache, and it's at: .kde/share/apps/kio_http/cache ...so if that wasn't where you found your 140 MB, it could well have been from an older version. KDM and ip aliasing
Hi, does anyone know how to configure KDM to run on an aliased IP? I do have a machine running 2 IPs on one network card. For some network reasons I need KDM to run on the aliased one and not the original one. The clients try to connect via chooser broadcast and only see the original IP address. Is there a way to correct this? I tried setting DisplayManager.sourceAddress but this does not seem to change anything. Scanning through the latest digest of kde-core-devel, I noticed a developer just posted a patch to correct a custom font problem in Konsole that might match your description. I'm not sure if there'll be another offical release on the 2.2.x tree (anyone know?), so to correct the problem you might be on your own. If you're into compiling from scratch, you could probably get the patch from recent postings in the list's archives and compile it in. I think its been committed to the 2.2 branch in CVS, so just make sure you have the kde-dev package and its probably good to go. Here's the message pasted from kde-core-devel-digest, I'd post the patch too but the digest format has so horribly mangled it you'll probably be better off going straight to the archives. Hope this helps, Mike ---Begin Paste--- Message: 4 Date: Wed, 19 Sep 2001 18:11:49 +0200 From: Alexander Kellett <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [patch] konsole bugfix - 2.2 branch Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] I'm really not sure if this is only for me or if anyone else is seeing the problem but here we go. When a "custom" font is selected in konsole and "save settings" used on restart of konsole it defaults to using the "unicode" setting, this is due to TOPFONT being one to low (or at least it fixed it for me, not entirely sure of the logic so, maybe there is a better fix) Its in the KDE_2_2_BRANCH so I thought it best to post the patch - in i've also made a few quick code cleanups.
