(My home system is dialup only). I've always found apt-zip quite useful, it should be possible to use it with you're laptop too: suppose you have some directory on your laptop mounted via nfs then you might try apt-zip-list --skip-mount -m /mnt/laptop -a dist-upgrade -o tar=tar then fetch the packages with the newly created script and back at home do an apt-zip-inst --skip-mount -m /mnt/laptop -a dist-upgrade and your dist-upgrade should be finished :-) you could do the same with single packages, via apt-zip-list --skip-mount -m /mnt/zip -p {all the packages you want :-)} the rest should be as described above. cheers, Yven -- Yven J. KreateCD and mpg123
Hello, For some unclear reason KreateCD keeps complaining it cannot find mpg123. It is installed, I even compiled it myself and put it /usr/local/bin, but KreateCD also refuses to use this one. Does anyone have this problem and does anyone know how to fix it? Konqueror and web forms
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 I tried filling out a web form with konqueror the other thay but had to resort to hand editing a URL for it to work. They didn't use a POST method but instead a rather ugly, put everything in the URL, approach. One of the things I had to input was a full name which contained spaces. Konqueror didn't replace the spaces with %20 so squid choked and, when I turned off the proxies, the web interface choked too. Is this konqueror's fault? Should it do the replacing? The rules for grouping similar tasks are (IMHO) the window manager WM_CLASS identifier, which is identical for all 'konsole' sessions. You might want to use xterm or something for your mail (I do this, exactly for that reason). That's what I do currently, but I want to assign an icon so I don't have to start at the default X in the task bar. with aterm I can change the WM_CLASS of the window using the -name parameter. I guess I will file a bug report / feature request for konsole for a similar command-line option. thanks. -pete -- (peter.royal|osi)@pobox.com - http://pobox.com/~osi jabber/ [EMAIL PROTECTED] - icq/ 153025 - aim/ osifx - yahoo/ osi_fx your brain on life - http://fotap.org - incubating pgpZUr1s7XUY0.pgp Description: PGP signature

The kde metapackage depends on korganizer. korganizer does not depend on the kde metapackage. A metapackage is a package that does not contain anything itself but just depends on a set of other packages. The only reason to use the metapackage is if you just want all of kde without having to worry about which packages that comprises. If you've reached the point of wanting some parts of kde but not others then the metapackage is not particularly useful to you and might as well be removed. -- see shy jo
