Re: [kde3] Appeal for help - powerful box needed

2002-02-15 Thread Giles Constant
So, I'm making an appeal for help in the form of access to a build
box, which must have the following:

I'd help, but I'm behind a firewall :-(

I can tell you that my PIII600+IDE (reiserfs) took 8 hours to compile
qt3, kdelibs, and kdebase!

it starts, but the background keeps flickering in grey, and everytime I
select 'configure background', it SEGV's the control centre.. :-) In
other words, it's unuseable!

I've got it compiled in /opt/kde3, but I've got qt2.4 and kde2.2 all over
/usr (ala debian packages), but I've set QTDIR, LD_LIBRARY_PATH, and PATH
to override this.

Anyone else had this first time experience?

openoffice install problem under kde

2002-02-15 Thread Putz Ákos
Hi,

I cannot install openoffice 641, or staroffice 6.0 beta under the latest KDE
from sid (using woody, pinpointing only kde packages from sid). With a
falisafe session, oo and so installs and runs without any problem. Is this a
known problem?

Are you ever going to do a KDE2.2.2 upload?

2002-02-15 Thread Daniel Stone
No.

This is my short and canonical response to this question. Chris Cheney
is working on taking over KDE2.2, and he's redoing the packaging from
scratch (thank god), so it may take some time. We know about the issues
already, and are working on them. I'm mainly focussing on KDE3.

Cheers,
d
