Scrolling Desktop

2002-06-06 Thread Carles Company Soler
Hi,
Well, my desktop scrolls when I use the mouse wheel on it. It also scrolls
when i make a square down of the desktop (dragging the mouse)... Is there a
way to deactivate this?

Thanks

kweather applet

2002-06-06 Thread Alaric Ravenhall
I keep getting asked for a username and password to access the weather site
used by this applet. (http://weather.noaa.gov)
At these times, I basically have to hit cancel, and it does not update the
weather in the applet. Yet removing the applet and readding it to kicker will
allow me to pull the weather down again.
Anyone else experienced this?

Griz, how you doing? Send me an email off-list, and we'll chat.

On topic, that email *does* answer your question. Chris specifically states:

"I will not be uploading debs to incoming until after the gcc 3.0.1
transition which supposedly will happen within a month."

Seeing as he sent that message on May 24th, that means that kde3 will be
hitting unstable in (roughly) 2-3 weeks (depending on when the 3.1 switch
happens).

You need ta get sum reedin glasses B-)

Hello Wolfgang (and list),

No, not really. I was wondering when it would INCLUDED into the existing
distrubition (e.g. SID/unstable). I prefer to work ONLY with what is actually
in the 'released distro' as I have a number of clients that are running
Deb/KDE and I would pay (with blood most likely) if we attempted to update
all the existing machines to KDE 3 outside of the release. Way way WAY too
much time and energy involved. But Thank You for the responce and assist!

Have a grand day!

Not dupped pages.
Only last 1-2 lines of every page are duplicated on the top of the next
page.

AFAIK, ps is generated by Qt, class QPrinter.
Fonts for X are loaded via xfs (I use fonts from msttcorefonts package),
but QT_FONTPATH is set to the place where they are, and qt finds them and
embeds into ps (as Type3).

That is the right post, however that should have said gcc 3.1.x not
3.0.1. I will have to check with the Debian GCC people to see if the
transition is still expected to occur soon.

KDE3.x and SID

Hey Chris,
Hey List,

Preface: I've been on this list for almost two years now and watch it
daily. We've got a damn fine crew here! But, I'm thinking I missed a post and
I haven't found an answer in the archives (as of this moment)

Chris (and other packagers),

I haven't seen an announcement when the KDE 3.x debs will be integrated
into
SID. Did I somehow miss this posting?? I know you all are "bustin' ass" to
get it all packages and friendly and this is NOT intended in ANY WAY to put
any dispairity onto any of you!! Not in the least. You're all doing a
fantastic job! I'm getting anxious though. :--)
Last week I ended up helping the local police department install
RedHate 7.3
onto one of thier forensic machines and found that KDE 3.x is actually rather
a sweet deal, therefore I want some too. :--)) Though I am a 'purist' in the
worse sense of the word when it comes to my Debian. If it's not packaged for
us, I'll wait! (simple, actually)

[rant]

Oh!! By-the-by!! If any of you good folks are T.V. Watchers, you might
wanna start REALLY looking at the computer monitors in the series West Wing!!
THEY'RE RUNNING KDE!!! (woohoo, and to 'The Gates of Hell' I say, "You loose,
AGAIN!!")

[/rant]

Thanks again, folks!

Re: ldap kioslave in kde 3.0.1

2002-06-06 Thread Egidio Corsini
I'm not sure it can work. I've been able to browse an ldap with kioslave from
konqueror, but not from kaddressbook.
Plus I read there are some projects to integrate ldap support with
kaddressbook. So I don't think it will work as is.

ldap kioslave in kde 3.0.1

2002-06-06 Thread Saadiq Rodgers-King
I'm using the kde 3.0.1 experimental debs and trying to get the ldap
kioslave working. Is there any reason the ldap kioslave shouldn't be
working? I'm trying to get ldap access in kaddressbook. I have
libldap2 installed and I'm trying to test it but I'm not having any
luck. I just wanted to check if it should be working or not. Thanks.

No. I tried from konq, same setup as yours, and I find that I'm getting
line breaks eaten, but no dupped pages.

First thing to do is to find out what lib is used to create ps in kde.

Print to postscript question

2002-06-06 Thread Nikita V. Youshchenko
Hello comp.windows.x.kde

Every time I try to print from any KDE 2.2 application to a postscript
file, the generated ps file has 1-2 last lines of each page repeated on the
next page.

Any PS viewer shows this. And I've looked inside generated PS files - lines
are really duplicated there.

Can this be reprodused by anyone else?
Can this be fixed somehow?

Using KDE from Debian unstable.
