kpackage 3.0.3 problem and solution
When I start kpackage from kde 3.0.3 it complains about my not having libdb.so.2. I did some searching and found that I needed libdb1-compat. It would be good if kpackage could be built so it did not need this library or if it could depend on libdb1-compat. Designing and building web applications http://webme-eng.com

kdm (3.0.3) not starting
Hi all, I've just upgraded to the new 3.0.3 debs and cannot get kdm to start. It seems to start X (which flashes for half a second or so), then dies, with an exit code of 0. I've verified that X runs by itself and via gdm, but for some reason kdm is having trouble starting up. An strace doesn't show much except that it loads a bunch of modules around 100 times, reads some configuration, then infinitely loops around: select(256, [1 3 6 7], NULL, NULL, {116, 311000}) = ? ERESTARTNOHAND (To be restarted) --- SIGIO (I/O possible) --- ... select(256, [1 3 6 7], NULL, NULL, {116, 274000}) = ? ERESTARTNOHAND (To be restarted) --- SIGALRM (Alarm clock) --- ... Anyone seen this before? We've been able to repeat this on 2 machines, so my next assumption is that the packages we have are dodgy in some way. Everything works fine with the 3.0.2 packages... :( Cheers, Tom -- Tom Adams [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[PATCH] kdeutils (cvs head), debian
Hi! I needed this patch to build kdeutils debs from cvs head. Can i ask debian kde maintainer to commit this? Dunno if this is right place for this post. Re: kde2 conf files and kde3
Andre Pfeiler wrote: Hello, how about the configuration files ,e.g. from kmail, knode, the konqueror bookmark files and the other conf files stored in ~/user/.kde , ~/user/.kde2, what will happen to them if i remove kde2 and install kde3? will i get my default desktop configuration or must i reconfigure the hole desktop and all qt, kde applications? AFAIK, the configuration will be preserved (no need to change anything). But i'd rather back it up before upgrading :). thanks greets andre cheers yenar -- --- Yenar Calentaure mail: yenar(at)host.sk homepage: http://yenar.host.sk --- The universe is entering maintenance mode in 2 minutes. kspread bug
I've reported this as http://bugs.kde.org/db/47/47074.html If you enter text into a field so that it overlaps the field to the right. Then enter text in the overlapped field. Then leave the field with arrow keys or enter key. KSpread segfaults. Can somebody verify this? Regards Anders E. Andersen
