kdeedu 3.1 packages

2002-08-29 Thread Yenar Calentaure
Hi!
I started to work on bringing debian packaging of kdeedu up to date with
cvs. I want to learn how to create packages for debian, and also want to
have kdeedu installed.

I'd like to ask the maintainer if he wants to incorporate my work into
kde cvs or if he rather likes to do it himself.

The (very preliminary and partially broken (there are undeclared
dependencies at very least)) patch to package kverbos, kdeedu-libs and
flashkard are in http://yenar.host.sk/download/kde-debian.tar.gz, in
directory kde/patches-local/kdeedu/debian-1.diff.

cheers

Fonts in KDE

2002-08-29 Thread matej bazec

Hello everybody.

I use KDE version 2.2.2 (woody) and I have a problem with fonts.
If I want to change a font from default all font settings change
and I can't restore the previous situation (just by selecting
a different point, I can always delete some of files in .kde
directory or edit them). It has probably to do something with
antialiasing. In the font selection dialog there is a posibility
to disable (enable) antialiasing, but it doesn't make any
difference.

Built without any problems here. If you're interested in an unofficial .deb,
try

Sure it is:

$ apt-cache show quanta
[...]
Depends: kdelibs4 (= 4:3.0.2), libc6 (= 2.2.4-4), libfam0, libjpeg62,
libpng3, libqt3-mt (= 2:3.0.4-1), libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2 (=
1:2.95.4-0.010810), xlibs ( 4.1.0), zlib1g (= 1:1.1.4)

Built on my Sid-box some weeks ago (therefore libqt 3.0.4).

well, not in my case :

Depends: kdelibs3 (= 4:2.2.2-1), libc6 (= 2.2.4-4), libfam0, libjpeg62,
libpng2(=1.0.12), libqt2 (= 3:2.3.1-1), libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2 (=
1:2.95.4-0.010810), xlibs ( 4.1.0), zlib1g (= 1:1.1.4), kdebase-libs,
weblint

am i using old apt-sources ?
loos like apt wants to instal an old version of it, and dpkg has some issues
with the one that was posted here :

#dpkg -i quanta_3.0pr1-1_i386.deb
(Reading database ... 38392 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking quanta (from quanta_3.0pr1-1_i386.deb) ...
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
dpkg: error processing quanta_3.0pr1-1_i386.deb (--install):
short read in buffer_copy (backend dpkg-deb during `./usr/bin/quanta')
Errors were encountered while processing:
 quanta_3.0pr1-1_i386.deb

can that file be damaged or something ? (downloaded twice)

tal.

I have already filed a bugreport with the kde developer, however it has
been closed because the developer was not able to verify it against the
latest cvs version.

On your page, you refer to my kde3-on-debian page kde3.html. The link you

It has links to packages for cdbakeoven (per

I've put a small Shell here Konqueror extension to the web,
inspired by the 4dos Windows version:

   http://koti.welho.com/jelonen/code/kde-shellhere/

A small clarification, thanks to Thomas Jens:
the extension differs from Konqueror's open terminal command (ctrl-T) in
that you can right-click on a directory in which you want to open the shell.
If there's no directory under the pointer, it works like ctrl-T.

Hi.. so I'm starting to do up all my little standalone KDE packages for KDE3.
I've just put kdbg and kprof up on my p.d.o site and others will gradually
follow.
The apt-lines again are:

deb http://people.debian.org/~bab/kde3 ./
deb-src http://people.debian.org/~bab/kde3 ./

File Manager - Super User Mode

2002-08-29 Thread Cloverm
Hello,

If I try to run Konqueror as root while logged in as a normal user (same
as clicking on File Manager - Super User Mode from the KDE menu) it
crashes with this error: /tmp/mcop-cloverm is not owned by user. Of
course not, because I just became root. If I chmod root.root
/tmp/mcop-cloverm, it solves to problem, but than I can't run konqueror
as the normal user any more. What gives?
