Black on a light gray or ivory works for me.
I've told KDE to use a gray for the std background,
Konsole defaults to "System Colors",
and I do RMB->Schema->... for the odd prg which looks bad.

I guess when you have apps coming in from all different directions,
you will either have to reconfigure colors lots or live with it.

Hi,

I am wondering what I am supposed to choose.

I like the paper background but then some colored texts from ls and emacs
output are unreadable (e.g. the light green). I know that this is
configurable but it would be too much configuration for everytime I change my
mind.

White on Black: the size of the window is still black text and thus not
readable. Am I really supposed to e.g. change _all_ modes in e.g. emacs
because some fonts (e.g. diff-mode) has black text defined: very bad.

Black on White: wow, this is hard on my eyes and the same restrictions as
paper background apply.

So, is there really not optimal way?
Should I file bug reports for e.g. emacs?

Hendrik

PS: I have "alias emacs='emacs -nw'" defined because the emacs GUI look
horrible and has very ugly fonts. And no, defining crap such as usable fonts
for every single app is not an option.

Its configurable somewhere on the menu. I don't have my 3.1 chroot
running now, but from ~/.kde/share/config/konquerorrc:
MMBOpensTab=true
Otherwise ctrl + MMB click should open them in tab as well.
all the best,

Yes, I have read all of your messages to the list, and they saved me a
great deal of time, especially those about the libxml problem, and surely
I wasn't the only one to benefit of them.

I believe htdig.conf is a config file for a "special edition" of the
program htdig tailored for use with kdevelop. I never tried it, tough,
because i think its'nt compatible with the original htdig, which I use.

I am not sure if this is true, tough, I'll give it a try on the next
recompilation.

Anyway, I was unsure that kdevelop 2.1.4 still compiles under KDE 3.1,
so thanks for the good news !

Ciao,
Paolo

Looking for sponsor for Geramik packages

2002-12-10 Thread Stefan Schimanski

Hi!
I am looking for a sponsor for a set of packages that provide a
Keramik like look (the KDE 3.1 default) for GTK1.x and GTK2.x
applications (ITP Bug#172419).

==
* Package name: geramik
* Version: 0.14
* Upstream Author: Craig Drummond <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=3952
* License: GPL
  Description: A GTK theme which imitates the KDE 3.1 look

GTK theme *and* engine intended to make GTK applications have a
similar look to the Keramik KDE style. The engine is a modifed
version of the original GTK pixmap engine - which has been modified
to obtain widget colours from ~/.qt/qtrc. This means that GTK apps
should follow the KDE color scheme.
==

There are two "any" and one "all" package currently:
* gtk-engines-geramik - Geramik GTK1.x Theme
* gtk2-engines-geramik - Geramik GTK2.x Theme
* gtk-engines-geramik-data - Geramik GTK2.x Theme bitmaps

You can find them at
  deb http://home.tu-clausthal.de/~ifssch/debian/unstable-geramik/ ./

Thank you in advance

Hmm? Middle click opens a link in a new tab for me (using Konqueror 3.1
from Karolina's debs).

Subject: Konqueror Shortcuts ???

As you can now browse the web with all your windows tabulated under 1
konqueror window i tried to configure the shortcut to open a link in a new
tab to be like operas default shortcut (SHIFT+LeftMouseClick) which is very
comfortable, or to even be the middle mouse button but there seems to be no
way to be able to configure any mouse button to be a shortcut ?!!?
Anyone know if this is possible or im i stuck with the old right click,
 select from menu style of opening links in new tabs ???

thnx
