I'll backport Kamikaze (along with some other packages) after my exams.
By that time 0.0.4 should be released already...

function is quite nice but not during downloading files. How can I
  disable it?

Right, konqueror is not very smart about this. When given a real link, you can
use the shift key. But this does e.g. not work at sf.net and is a real
pain...
The only thing you can do: edit the mimtype to start not the embedded viewer
but the external one.

I see that there is no kernel packag for 2.4 in debian as well. Does 2.4 just
not run on sparc32??

kde 3.1 menu with 'no text available', gimp very slow

2003-02-21 Thread Harm Behrens
Hi,
I updated woody stable with kde 3.1 from the 'kde.org mirror'. Before doing so
I removed the old packages, as described at:
http://devel-home.kde.org/~nolden/kde/README

In two aplications (kmail, korganizer) I find in the main-menu several entries
with 'no text available' or 'kein text vorhanden' as I use the german
location package. Furthermore some entries in the sub-menu are doubled or
missing!

Additionaly 'the gimp' starts very slow, takes up to 60 seconds to launch.
Before the update it didn't take more than 5 seconds.

So far, everything else works fine for me.

Any suggestions and hints are welcome,
hb-?

Hello Paul,

Thank you Paul, but I couldn't fix the problem:

If I now run:

I got this:

# run configure with build tree

Yep.. It's because the smb ioslave waiting for the improved libsmbclient

(which is not an optimal solution).

I had the same problem. Solved it by downgrading samba to stable version.
Maybe it's not the best solution, but worked for me - smb working in konqueror
pretty nice. If anybody has a better solution, I'd be very happy... ;-)

Maybe you could map the key to kfmclient openURL, instead?
This won't stop multiple windows opening, but you'll only have
 a one konqueror process.

A reasonable compromise. Is there also an option to open
konqueror tabs instead of windows? Too bad I can't find any man
page for the program.

on ftp.kde.org are not compatible, because of a problem with libfam0 it
seems...

Thanks for your help.
