RE: KDE problem on startup

2003-06-21 Thread Vaughan, Curtis
Christophe's solution did not work.
To be more exact in my wording, KDE boots to the point where it says
"Initializing System Services".
Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Curtis

Create another user, and see if you obtain the same result ; or disable
temporarily your .kde/ directory (KDE will recreate it). You'll at least
know if the problem is system-wide or in your user's configuration (the
erase-and-reconfigure may be the quickest way to have a functional system
back...).

kde 2.2.2, konqueror cannot connect to remote host

2003-06-21 Thread Torben Brosten
Hi,
On a ppc machine running KDE 2.2.2 debian woody stable (r3.01), when attempting
to:
ftp://[EMAIL PROTECTED]
The two applications (Konqueror 2.2.2 and Quanta Plus (2.0) ask for password,
then appear to login, because the url appears to be redirected to the account
environment's base pathname. Then a window appears stating "Could not connect to
host". The directory window remains blank (no files shown) and no browsing
seems to be possible. Sometimes the attempts have shown a url with '/home'
before the account base pathname. Not sure if that's relevant.

Using emacs and konsole on the same machine (and bbedit via MacOS9 on another)
ftp'ing to the same location seems to work fine.

Also, Konqueror 2.2.2 and Quanta can access an ftp host on the LAN.

KMail 3.1.2-1 crashing

2003-06-21 Thread Jarno Elonen
Hi,

Kmail, after upgrading from 3.1.1-1 to 3.1.2-1 in Unstable, crashes on startup
on my system and gives very little debug information:

*** KMail got signal 11 (Crashing)
ERROR: Communication problem with kmail, it probably crashed.

Strace is available at
http://elonen.iki.fi/code/kmail-3.1.2-1-crash-strace.txt.bz2

Downgrading to 3.1.1 helped. Has this happened to anyone else?

- Jarno

I didn't upgrade any imap reladed packages on the server side (debian woody)
and I had no problems a few days ago. So I think my problem isn't an
incompatible IMAP server.
