If so, I believe you can use the KDE Control Center (under Peripheral Devices > Printers). You should also be able to edit the files in /etc/cups/ directly to add a printer. I rarely use a browser for it now, I most often use KDE (on Xandros). I have one laptop running Debian Sarge and I am almost sure that KDE has a wizard for adding printers (in the Control Center of KDE). 8) The Add Printer option in the KDE Control Center activates a printer wizard. I found it more intuitively easy to use than the http://localhost:631/ option in the browser. Now I haven't used it to install a remote printer. The Debian KDE list might also have some good suggestions for you. -- (Mr.) Gayle Lee Fairless, http://counter.li.org/, No. 365760. These "dual-speed" hubs are still hubs. They simply provide a single switch (bridge) between the 10Mbps and the 100Mbps segments. Essentially, it combines a 10Mbps hub and a 100Mbps hub into a single unit and then a switch circuit connects the two. Aren't home-user oriented dual-speed ethernet devices typically implemented in the form of a switch? Not from what I see. But both are available, you're just gonna pay more for a "switch" than for a "hub" since there is more circuitry in the switch. If the dual-speed ethernet device says "hub", each unit has a built-in self-learning bridge which provides the communications link between the 10 and 100 Mbps network devices. The intelligent bridge automatically manages network traffic such that 100 Mbps traffic does not unnecessarily crowd the 10 Mbps network segment and 10 Mbps traffic does not crowd the 100 Mbps segment. If the dual-speed ethernet device says "switch", then each port is bridged individually, so each port supports both HD and FD. jc -- Jeff CoppockSystems Engineer Diggin' Debian Admin and User -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". It'll go to your default directory. Then just leave the FTP server with- 'quit' and change to your default directory and run- 'dpkg -i aim-1.5.234-1.i386.deb'. That should be it. If you're lacking any of the needed libraries, it'll list them, and you can just apt-get them. BTW, you could also just use the . tar.gz file they provide...it's a compiled binary file, ready to run. Just unpack it. And it works from the javascript linkno corruption. --- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Oh, excuse my quick answer. I checked the web and found AIM for Linux. You could use this link to download the Debian package: http://channels.netscape.com/wrap/linker.jsp?floc=at_oslin_1_l3&ref=http://ftp.newaol.com/aimgen/380469/aim_1.5.286-2_i386.deb Am Mittwoch, 3. Re: AOL for Debian
You can't get the AOL Instant Messenger for Debian. Debian is a Linux Distribution, Windows binaries won't work. Am Mittwoch, 3. AOL for Debian
Hi there, I hope I am asking in the right e-mail group. I know of the program GAIM but I am wanting to download the official AOL Instant Messenger for Debian. When I try and do this, I get a bunch of garbage on the screen, so I figure I do a "Save Page As..." and I type in the filename. Well, I then do a "dpkg -i " and it says since it was saved as ASCII I can't do anything with it, because it doesn't think it is a binary. I then followed the instructions on AOL's website saying to right click it and save it that way, well when I do that it comes up with the file jasper.jsp or something like that. How can I get this then? Thanks.. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
