howto pack kdm-themes
Hi qt-kde-devs, I've packed[1] the kdm-theme-krystal[2] theme for kdm. It was rejected by ftp-master for the following reason: cite: --- Hi Maintainer, while looking at your package in NEW i decided to reject it. Please contact debian-qt-kde@lists.debian.org for information how to proceed with your package, that kde-maint-group is working on a package infrastructure for such theme packages, as for example these kdm-themes contain multiple files that are shared between all packages, which can be avoided. --- could you please give me a hint, what's wrong with the package or sponsor the upload (with a hint, that this package is approved by qt-kde-dev) if it is OK? Bug#324830: juk: package is not installable
On Wednesday 24 August 2005 06:10 am, Klaus Huber wrote: # apt-get install juk ... The following packages have unmet dependencies: juk: Depends: libtunepimp-bin but it is not going to be installed E: Broken packages This is expected. It is due to the gcc 4.0 transition currently taking place in unstable. If you want to install juk in unstable, you will need to get libtunepimp-bin and any other packages it complains about from testing. This may not be possible because some other package you have may depend on the transitioned libtunepimp-bin. If that is the case, your only option to use juk would be to switch back to testing for the time being. Josh -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#324867: KPPP should direct user to /usr/share/doc/kppp/README.Debian

Downgrading kdelibs-data to the previous version solved all of these problems. This is expected. KDE, along with the rest of unstable is going through a gcc transition. KDE will be uninstallable in sid until all of KDE has been recompiled with the new gcc. arts and kdelibs were the first parts to undergo the transition. If you must have kde right now, your options are: 1) Downgrade to testing. If you can't deal with transitions like this you probably shouldn't be running unstable to start with. 2) Install kdelibs and any dependencies from testing, install the rest of kde from unstable. 3) Install kdelibs from unstable. Compile the rest of kde yourself. 4) Wait for a few weeks until the rest of kde in unstable has been built against gcc 4.0. The current experimental version is also not compiled with the new gcc, so that wouldn't help. arts override disparity
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the override file for the following file(s): arts_1.4.2-4_all.deb: package says section is sound, override says libs. Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. Re: problems starting KDE
Hi, I remember having a similar problem some time ago: On start, KDE would freeze in the initializing screen. I am not shure about the background with mouse pointer and the .xsession-errors file, though. However, I solved this problem by removing some leftover KDE session file. I am not sure which file it really was, but as it is a fresh install, just remove the .kde subdirectory in your home directory. You could also try starting KDE as another user, as these files are stored in the home directories. Hope this helps! Regards Clemens 3. After I enter my login and password, the splash screen appears. 4. Splash screen stays at the Initializing system services stage for about 2 min and then (without passing the rest) I see the background with a mouse pointer. That's it. 5. After killing the X with Ctrl+Alt+Bsp the .xsession-errors file reads: -- Clemens Bergmann Schwertlilienweg 14 68259 Mannheim [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Hallo everybody. First of all -- thanks really A LOT to David! It finally works. Stupid me -- one typo in /etc/network/interfaces and lo was not started. Once again - thank you all for your replies, Roman
