Just disable everything in Control Center/Regional & Accessibility/Keyboard Layout (I mean, *everything* in *all* tabs). It is long-time problem -- you need to logout and login from KDE to restart everything what's needed -- somehow upgrade of dbus screws up kded, so it needs to be restarted. And yes, I was bitten by this as well. Matej -- Matej Cepl, http://www.ceplovi.cz/matej/blog/ GPG Finger: 89EF 4BC6 288A BF43 1BAB 25C3 E09F EF25 D964 84AC Give your heartache to him. Re: cookies don't work in konqueror after upgrade
Thanks for the link, Florian. I installed the "avahi-daemon" package as suggested by one of the threads in the link, and that seems to have solved my problems. Tim > > I'm running sid with kde 3.5.1. How did you do that? It's not just plain text, it's a key sequence you have to enter there. For example to send string "Hello" into application you have to put string "Shift+H:E:L:L:O" into this textbox. -- Hasso Tepper KDE Estonian Team

Your crashes of kded might be related to this: http://lists.debian.org/debian-kde/2006/01/msg00256.html I also use Sid/KDE 3.5.1 and I have not noticed any problems with the wallet manager. Maybe there is something wrong with your configuration files; you could either try if the wallet manager works for a newly created user or you could temporarily move your config files out of the way and see if this improves the situation. How to create keyboard shortcuts in KDE?
Hello, could you tell me how to create keyboard shortcuts in KDE and whether they work or not? I wanted to create some shortcuts for inserting commonly used text. I went to control center, regional settings and accessibility, keyboard actions/shortcuts (rough translation, I use localized version). I added new action, set its type as keyboard shortcut -> keyboard input, then defined shortcut as alt-b (alt-ctrl-b for the second try), then in last tab I entered my text, which I wanted to be sent to an application. I tried to choose all three choices in send input to radio button group. And eventually (after clicking all the apply buttons) nothing has been sent to any of tried applications (konsole, kate, kbabel). Have I done anything wrong? Or is this common KDE bug? I would appreciate any opinions. By the way, when I defined action as shortcut -> command/url, it surprisingly worked :\ Best regards, Robert W polskim Internecie s? setki milion?w stron. cookies don't work in konqueror after upgrade
I'm running sid with kde 3.5.1. After upgrading last night a few problems developed: konqueror can no longer use cookies. Also, kded crashes at startup and I get a sigabrt message. And the wallet manager no longer seems to work. Has anyone else had these problems? Tim -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Well, FWIW, I finally made it stick at the position I want, and I've did it just dragging (without using the menus, as said in kde-devel). -- Alex (a.k.a. suy) - GPG ID 0x0B8B0BC2 http://barnacity.net/ - Jabber ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Konqueror's location toolbar jumps to the first row
Hi. I'm recently noting something weird with the "location" toolbar in konqueror. When I open a new konqueror, I have two rows of toolbars; the first with the "previous", "next", "up", etc. buttons, and the second with the "location" toolbar. But if I maximize the window, the "location" row is merged with the above one (like firefox), and I'm unable to put it again in a second row. I think this happens since I upgraded kdebase to 3.5.1. Anyone can confirm it, please? -- Alex (a.k.a. suy) - GPG ID 0x0B8B0BC2 http://barnacity.net/ - Jabber ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
