Bug#347843: Currently missing spam icon

2006-04-20 Thread Adam Porter
tags 347843 moreinfo
thanks

In 3.5.2 I noticed that the spam icon (the green and white recycling arrows)
is missing. I was able to locate a very small version of the icon, but it's
quite blurry when scaled up to the normal icon size. But I've never noticed
a missing ham icon.

Could you please try 3.5.2-1 and let us know what you find?

Package: kdepim-dev
Version: 4:3.5.2-1
Severity: normal

kdepim-dev still references .la libtool files, that no longer exist.
E.g. /usr/lib/libkonnector.la references /usr/lib/libXcursor.la and
/usr/lib/libXrender.la. This makes all packages build-depending on
kdepim-dev ftfbs. A recompilation as done with kdelibs4-dev should fix
this.

This still happens in kmail 3.5.2-1. Backtrace attached.

Bug#363974: quanta: crash when clicking Download Documentation... in the Documentation panel

2006-04-20 Thread Wouter Van Hemel
Package: quanta
Version: 4:3.5.2-1

Hello,

Quanta crashes when clicking on Download Documentation... in the
Documentation panel. (You might have to click a few times.)

The dialog itself doesn't seem to do anything, either. Or perhaps there isn't
any extra documentation?

Backtrace follows, not sure if it's useful.

I can't get kpdf to load a large PDF. I wanted to read
http://www.inform-fiction.org/manual/DM4.pdf
When I load it with kghostview, I can see the first pages
after two seconds.
I waited 5 minutes for kpdf to show me anything about it,
then I had to kill the app. I tried this several times.
(I've got an Athlon64 (in 32 bit mode) and 1 GB RAM.)
I consider this an important bug, as PDF handling is what
the application is all about.

I'd like to have two icons at the bottom of my desktop, just above
the task bar. This works fine - as long as I switch off automatic
arrangement of icons. When this option is enabled, the icons are
moving up one icon height on every new login (didn't test how far
this would go though).
My screen size is 1280x960, the desktop icon size is 64. Just in case
this makes a difference.

Bug#364008: kmail: messages marked for signing not signed when saved to drafts folder

2006-04-20 Thread Eike Sauer
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.5.0-4
Severity: normal

kmail might want to remember if I wanted to sign a certain message
even if it was saved to drafts folder later, but for sure it has
to sign messages saved to drafts folder when signing every maessage
was chosen in the settings.

Steps to reproduce:
* enable settings-kmail settings-security-messages-sign auomatically
* write a little mail (sign button will be chosen by default)
* save it to draft
* re-edit mail
= sign button is not chosen
* send it
= mail goes unsigned despite every mail should be signed according to
the settings

Bug#273724: kdm: improper handling of XkbOptions in xorg.conf

2006-04-20 Thread Matt R Hall
Package: kdm
Version: 4:3.5.2-1
Followup-For: Bug #273724

I am writing to confirm the existence of this bug and further document the
behavior described by the other user who reported it two years ago.

setxkbmap -print shows the following output:

xkb_keymap {
xkb_keycodes  { include xfree86+aliases(qwerty)   };
xkb_types { include complete  };
xkb_compat{ include complete  };
xkb_symbols   { include pc(pc104)+us+compose(rwin)};
xkb_geometry  { include pc(pc104) };
};

From this, it is quite clear that compose(rwin) is set, which should mean that
it is possible to enter the compose key sequences using the right Windows key.
However, this only works correctly in X sessions started outside of kdm.
Inside kdm, pressing compose+'+e which should produce lowercase e acute
simply gets ignored. Same is true for other keys.

The fact that I have set this option in /etc/X11/xorg.conf as follows does not
make any difference. The option is also set in kcontrol as described by the
other user. Neither of these fix the problem.

Here is the settings in xorg.conf:
Section InputDevice
Identifier  Generic Keyboard
Driver  keyboard
Option  CoreKeyboard
Option  XkbRules  xfree86
Option  XkbModel  pc104
Option  XkbLayout us
Option  XkbOptionscompose:rwin

Re: Dead keys not working in KDE

2006-04-20 Thread Michael Schuerig
On Monday 17 April 2006 19:04, Michael Schuerig wrote:
 I'm trying to get dead keys to work in KDE (all the latest unstable
 packages, incl. xserver-xorg), but don't have any success. When I
 type acute followed by 'e', the first key stroke inserts nothing,
 the second inserts a plain 'e'. '`', '^', '~' are inserted
 immediately.

 That behavior is specific to KDE apps. In xterm, say, dead keys, and
 compose as well, behave as expected. In the KDE control center I've
 set country to Germany; language is set to US English.

On another mailing list I was pointed to the Input Method setting. And
indeed, when for an input field I change it from XIM to Simple
Composing Input Method, dead keys work for that particular field and I
can enter characters in the way I want to.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a place where the input method
is set globally for KDE. Also, I'm surprised that it should be
necessary to change the input method. Any ideas what's up?

I think that you'ld be better off running sid when playing around with
advanced desktop communication (advanced for Gnu/Linux that is).
Bluetooth, syncing and mobile stuff is on a much more advanced level in sid.
My experience with sid on both my laptop and workstation is, that the
applications are generally stable enough (way more stable than Windoze
anyway), but that you have to be rather careful when updating, especially
dist-upgrading. The xorg blow-up of the last week is a testament to that.
Despite the odd hickup now and then benefits of sid stil by far outweighs
the disadvantages on a desk-/laptop.

KPilot and pilot-link

2006-04-20 Thread Benjamí Villoslada
Someone have KPilot sync problems? From one week ago, only one of 7-10 syncs
works. In Debian Sid with 2.6.16-1-686-smp kernel.

BTW, is necessary to install pilot-link in order to use KPilot in Debian Sid?
I don't see any dependency, is just one cursiosity after this thread in
kde-pim list with the KPilot developer Adriaan de Groot:

Thanks :)

Regards,
