Bug#382162: kdm: No login possible for users with OpenAFS home directory since kernel version 2.6.16

2006-08-09 Thread Holger Mense
Package: kdm
Version: 4:3.3.2-1sarge1
Severity: important

Hi,

on our network we have users, who have their home directory on an
OpenAFS server. In order to get access to the home directory, the
libpam-openafs-session pam-module is used to obtain the needed afs token
upon login.

If I upgrade the kernel to version 2.6.16 (vanilla) (or newer), a login
with kdm is not possible anymore. There is no possiblity to write to the
users home directory because of missing afs tokens in the environment.
Till kernel version 2.6.15 (vanilla) this worked. The pam configuration
did not change.

I started debugging libpam-openafs-session, but as far as I can
overlook the situation, a token is successfully retrieved for the user.
However it seems to get lost somewhere in the environment of kdm.

gdm does not have this bug (using the same pam configuration like kdm).
Also console logins are working correctly.

Our pam configuration:

kdm:
authrequisite pam_nologin.so
authrequiredpam_env.so
@include common-auth
@include common-account
session requiredpam_limits.so
@include common-session
@include common-password

common-auth:
authoptionalpam_group.so
authsufficient pam_krb5.so ignore_root use_first_pass forwardable
authrequiredpam_unix.so try_first_pass nullok secure

common-account:
account optionalpam_krb5.so ignore_root
account requiredpam_unix.so

common-session:
session optionalpam_krb5.so ignore_root
session requiredpam_unix.so
session optionalpam_openafs_session.so ignore_root

common-password:
password sufficient pam_krb5.so ignore_root
password required pam_unix.so nullok md5

A current Debian Testing system is not affected by this bug.

Bug#382201: secpolicy lacks a .desktop file

2006-08-09 Thread Vassilis Pandis
Package: kdeadmin
Version: 4:3.5.4-0
Severity: wishlist

Hello. secpolicy currently lacks a .desktop file. A bug was filed against the
package in the
Ubuntu
bugtracker [1] and you can find a .desktop file attached there. It would be
nice if this was
included in Debian as well.

Bug#382031: Error updating koffice-i18n-es to 1.5.2-1

2006-08-09 Thread Ana Guerrero

I already have mailed to the kde-es translation team and they're aware of
the problem. It'll be fixed in the next upstream version. Since koffice
1.6 will be released in October, i think the best option is upload a debian
 revision to fix this.

Btw, spanish seems the only language with this problem, and the image file is
not exactly the same.

Bug#382238: libqt4-sql not built against sqlite3

2006-08-09 Thread Martin Gruner
Hi Brian,

thanks for your reply. To learn QT4 a little, I created a little and very
stupid test program which is supposed to open 2 sqlite3 databases. They were
created with libdbd-sqlite3-perl and I can work with the sqlite3 binary on
them.

When I run the QT test program, it throws out the error:
unsupported file format Unable to fetch row. The database does connect ok,
but finds no tables, and the queries all fail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. It might well be my fault.
Source code below, very crappy, debugging state.

Thanks in advance.

qt-x11-free was retried on hppa, but failed again. However, I see no

It hasn't been, because I can't see any way that libglu1-mesa could have
anything to do with the failure in question. libglu1-mesa should not be a
dependency of the tool that's failing with SIGBUS in the build log.

I would suggest that someone should investigate this further and get a clear
answer on the nature of the bug, because I really don't buy that libgcc skew
is to blame.

Re: Konqueror and auto-opening local .html files

2006-08-09 Thread Peter Palm
Op woensdag 9 augustus 2006 06:57, schreef John O'Hagan:
 Hi,

I'm running testing and have lately noticed a change in Konqueror's
behaviour when dealing with local HTML files.

If I open a folder which contains certain files (so far all called
index.html), Konqueror will automatically open that file as a web
page, which means one cannot browse the rest of that folder as a
 file-manager.

If I rename that file (obviously in a terminal), the behaviour
reverts to normal; but just creating an HTML file called index does
 not reproduce the behaviour.

I can still view the other files in the folder using ls, or by the
drop-down list in the location bar, I just can't browse normally.

As you can probably tell, I don't know enough about HTML to know
whether this behaviour is actually required for web browsing or not,
but it is annoying when a folder contains mixed file types.

Is there away to control this?

Yes there is,

In 'View', look at the second option in the menu, called 'use
index.html' or something (using Dutch version over here, I hope I've
translated it to the correct string).

Kind regards,

Peter Palm

Re: Kopete 0.12.1 for SID?

 Hello list,

Is there a package available somewhere for SID of Kopete 0.12.1? I've
looked, but I can't find it.

Ok, I built the ubuntu sources. I also applied the patch to make ICQ work.

The package is available for consumption at http://debian.kcore.org - the
usual stuff applies - no warranties, yadda yadda yadda, if it breaks you get
to keep all the pieces :p

Alternatively, you can add

deb http://debian.kcore.org/ ./

to your sources file and install it that way.

I also seen a Kopete DEB (with Jingle support) on kde-apps.org. I noticed
the uploader said it was compiled on Debian, so I assume against Unstable.

Konqueror being slow with RGBA images

2006-08-09 Thread Hasso Tepper
FYI, there seems to regression in Xorg which makes rendering in Konqeuror
quite slow for many pages. See Debian bug #376132 for details.

If anyone has idea where exactly the problem is, has just more info etc
please speak up :).
