Bug#386031: please drop the build dependency on g++-4.0 on alpha

2006-09-21 Thread Matthias Klose
severity 386031 serious
thanks

We use g++-4.0 because 4.1 FTBFSes. See bug #381717. Once that's fixed,
then of course we'll switch back to 4.1. Let me know if there's
something going on here that I don't understand.

yes, that's a misunderstanding. I did point out a workaround without
using g++-4.0 at all, so we can drop g++-4.0 from testing/unstable.
raising the severity now.

Bug#388619: knetwalk: Knetwalk still crashes when solved

2006-09-21 Thread marc coll
Package: knetwalk
Version: 4:3.5.4-2+b1
Severity: important

I see there's another similar resolved bug, but seems like either it's not
completely resolved,
or either this is a new one.
When I solve the game, a segfault occurs, and I see this if I start it from
konsole:

QGArray::at: Absolute index 4 out of range
KCrash: Application 'knetwalk' crashing...

Then KCrash shows up, but shows nothing interesting (no debugging symbols
found).

Only happens running the game as a normal user. If I run it as root, then it
works fine (!?).
I've tried to generate a core file, but to no avail.

Bug#388645: akregator sends wrong message type to KDE

2006-09-21 Thread Rob Bochan
Package: akregator
Version: 4:3.5.4-1
Severity: minor

When deleting articles from within akregator, a message window asking:
Are you sure you want to delete the selected (#) articles?
pops up. It's asking a question, however it triggers the A Warning
message is being shown sound from the KDE System Notifications. There
is no way to turn off the verification to remove the article (which
would be _really_ nice), and other than setting the KDE System
Notifications to use no sound for it's warning function, there's no
other way to stop this behavior. It's minor, but also quite annoying.

k3b can't eject cd

2006-09-21 Thread Lorenzo Bettini

Hi

I'm trying to copy a cd, having only one driver.

when k3b finishes copying the original it fails to eject the cd, thus I
must abort the whole procedure...

is there a way to avoid this? I mean since the original is correctly
copied is there a way to manually eject the cd so that I can keep on
with the procedure?

I had this problem too. I'm not sure why this happens, and since I
didn't have a lot of copying to do, I didn't bother figuring it out.
But to work around the problem, select Only create image and deselect
Remove image in the CD Copy dialog. Then copy the CD, and when that
is done, you should be able to eject the CD, put a new one in, and then
do a normal Burn CD Image to burn the new CD.

Good luck!

Could you try the eject command, to see if your drive recognizes such
order?

Re: Deleted on server error in KMail

2006-09-21 Thread Martin Steigerwald
Am Mittwoch 06 September 2006 03:13 schrieb Larry Garfield:

So if it does not happen just after that you deleted some message in
some folders, then it's a problem.

It happens separately for different folders, and doesn't seem to
correspond to recently-deleted mail. It has asked about my Sent folder
many times (from which I NEVER delete anything), various mailing lists
(which I clean out periodically, but haven't recently), pretty much
anything that has mail filtered into it directly, I think. I don't
believe it's happened to any folders that don't get new entries except
 by me manually moving mail.

The error is also not asking about deleting mail on the server. It's
saying that mail has been deleted on the server, and asks if it's OK to
 delete locally.

Hello Larry,

please report your observations to upstream bug

http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104956

I first thought these messages you describe may have to do with your local
filters and how KMail handles them with disconnected IMAP, but as I
thought it over I still didn't understand it fully.

Thing is that local filters just act locally. The changes they make are
synchronized with the IMAP account on the next data exchange. So sure
KMail deletes mail it filtered locally out of INBOX for example, but
since it filtered it out of INBOX locally already I do no see how it
comes about to delete them locally. And for the folders it filters mail
to it should just upload mails then.

It may be regular behavior being debugfully reported by KMail, but it may
also be that you are seeing an issue here. Maybe someone with more indept
knowledge on the synchronisation implementation can shed a light on this.
